You have to dig deep to really discover her true self. She is guarded under the control of the men in power. She spent her life raising her kids, who would face the almost same cruel fate as her. Her oldest is controlled by his father and her daughter (@ofdamsels) was forced into her own shoes. An arranged marriage along with having children at a young age when she barely knew about the world around her. Damaris feels useless in not protecting her children enough. She is trapped. She keeps screaming in a crowded room but no one seems to hear. 
            
            

She is under the firm control of her husband who manipulated her memories after discovering the hard hitting truth that Diamond the king kept hidden. She was tortured under his command and was forced to bear three of his children starting at the age of fifteen.
