just wanted to quickly jump on here and say a lil something -- as a writer within the marauders/hp fandom, its really fucking important to emphasise how backwards, dangerous, and downright disgusting jk rowling's views are on trans people and trans women. her ignorant and elitist ideologies are having a very real, very dark effect on the trans community in the uk.
i cant believe i have to say this in the big '25: but trans people are real. they exist, and they will continue to exist. suck it the fuck up.
it disgusts and saddens me to see so much conservative rhetoric spreading online and being normalised as logic. i think a lot of the world is forgetting that this isnt some online discourse--this is actually affecting, and in many cases hurting, real, living people.
hp meant a lot to me as a kid. as a (nearly) young adult now, it still holds a special place in my heart, which is why i use it as a basis to explore my writing style, develop my confidence in online spaces, and practise and hone my skills. but i want to make is so, so, SO clear--i do NOT, in ANY WAY, support jk rowlings TERF rhetoric.
im writing this message to attempt to open up conversation in my very very tiny corner of the internet, and to remind people that this shit is happening RIGHT NOW--its happening in the uk, in the usa, and in countless other places.
now is the time to listen, to boycott, and to help as much as we can to protect such a tiny, vulnerable part of our population.
my heart goes out to anyone within the queer community facing threats and oppression. i've been thinking about this so much lately, and seeing as wattpad is pretty much my only social media, i'm going to leave this here and hope that it inspires at least one person to go online and educate themselves (i'm still learning too) on an issue that affects so much more than what you can imagine.
love you, stay safe, and protect the dolls x
