A small note because I got a request to my Tumblr today from here: this Wattpad account isn't getting updated at the moment since the site bugs so much and scheduling new stuff takes literally 5-15 minutes per piece because it keeps screaming errors that say anything from "internet connection lost" (my internet is fine and every other site works peachy) to "error t8r5jr9u/unknown error" and throwing me out of the site/logs me out when I try to publish something, which gets tedious very quickly so I just haven't bothered with it so I don't know when I'll update any of my books again unfortunately, unless the site gets fixed one day :/ (Yes I submitted a support ticket back when problems got this bad but they basically said "try our paid version because ads may be the reason for those bugs, otherwise lol suck it" so no help there)

I'm really sorry if there's people who are impatiently waiting for me to update my books here, but at the moment Tumblr and AO3 are the only places where you can find my new fics because Wattpad's bugs simply don't let me post and I'm tired of fighting with it. (My username is the same as here, swanimagines)

@mur44no- Yeah, I thought so. It's a shame people don't bother spending more than two seconds to learn how to use a site, don't know how to google for instructions and rather use ChatPoop to ask if they have cancer when their fingertips look redder than their friends etc. :D I really don't understand Wattpad's appeal or how the hell it is "simple" because when I type literally ANYTHING to the search bar, it throws me with that one and same BTS x reader book I have never opened because I don't read BTS content. In AO3 it's so easy to find the EXACT type of thing I want to read and if people who think it's "complicated" just took a look on it, they'd understand.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just fed up with Wattpad stans who trash AO3 because they always act like entitled little shits. I just recently saw a reader who absolutely lost their buttons when they learned their fave story here is transferred to AO3 because the author feels like the story is no longer safe here and may also violate Wattpad's updated TOS in the future. Basically the reader was accusing the author for stuff the author can't help and threatened to send their TikTok audience to harass the author in AO3 unless the author cancels the moving plan... so yeah. I just can't stay here or let anyone translate my content when the strain keeps tightening and readers are increasingly becoming toxic.

@ swanimagines Thank u, Is awesome. But like u commented the most readers are on this app, And in the time I've been here and on Ao3, I've noticed that users prefer W because they find the platform's interface complicated.I also think it's better to get recognition for your work and not through someone else.

@mur44no- You're allowed to reupload/continue translating my fics in AO3 though if you want. The toxic readerbase only seems to exist here in Wattpad because there isn't a clear site built feature for translations, which, I think, makes people confused about who's the og author. But AO3 has a translation feature (as long as you post each work as separate rather than a multichapter Wattpad book-like "oneshot collection") and I have never heard anyone having problems with it :) I've heard multiple other similar experiences to mine from others who let their stories to be translated and posted into Wattpad, so it seems it's just a Wattpad thing.

Of course if you don't want to move into AO3, it's ok.

¡Hi! I hope you're doing well. I know we haven't spoken in a long time, but I wanted to tell you something about the story you're letting me translate.

So some users have asked me for the second part of "" by Kaz and well, I know I've asked you a lot, I just want permission to write that second part. I'll understand if that's not possible without problems.

          Have a nice day <3

swanimagines

@mur44no- Hi, so what I feared has now happened. There are people who don't understand you are translating (I saw from your profile that someone requested you to write Tolya content, clearly assuming my fics were written by you and not translated, even when you clarified it, but it tells me that despite your reassurances, there are other people who still think they are written by you, which exposes me to harassment), not writing fics yourself, and I saw you also plan to disrespect my wish not to write sequels based on my fics (without telling me...), as it would only create more people thinking they all are written by you = more risk of harassment towards me.

So unfortunately I'm now forced to ask you to remove the book. I'm sorry it came to this but I did warn you when you originally asked for a permission, and this is exactly why I said no at first, Wattpad readers rarely read anything else than the fic, they don't read the infos, A/N's, they just assume everything, it's one of the reasons why I hate this site. I can no longer risk it when the exact thing I was fearing happened, the next step from here is me getting hate bombed.

Heeey!! I’ve been working on a Sandman inspired story and i'd absolutely love it if someone gave it a read. If you ever feel like checking it out, it would mean a lot to me!

@Britanin Hi :) Unfortunately I'm not interested in reading OC stories, and I'm also not interested in reading stories on Wattpad. I'm here myself only because of thieves but no other reason as mobile ads drive me crazy and constantly bug for me. (Meaning it forces me to watch three 30 second ads and the last one jams 90% of the time, and then I restart the app and it forces me to watch those three ads again, and chances are the third ad jams again...) There's also a lot of other bugs too that affect me answering to comments and posting content, and Wattpad support basically replied "try our paid version, otherwise lol suck it" so I'm avoiding this app/website as much as I can :/

Also I recommend advertising your story on Reddit Fanfiction channels, or make a Tumblr and advertise it there instead of people's message boards. You're reaching a broader audience that way instead of chasing singular people in hopes they'll read your story.

A note: I've gotten a few suggestions lately about starting to make character specific books instead of fandom specific books here, as most of my readers are here for only a few characters and will skip the rest, and me showing up in notifs with "wrong" characters is annoying + readers overall would prefer reading books that only have fics for characters they like.

Yes, I agree on how it would be more convenient for readers. But for me, it would be a nightmare, even more than now. If you take a look at my profile, I have 45 books, which means there's 45 fandoms I've written for so far. Each book has fics for different characters, at the moment I have written stuff for 219 characters, which would make 219 books.

I know that for readers, that wouldn't be a problem. But updating those books would be such a chore, I already have to wade through the Wattpad book edit page thing ("my stories") whenever I publish a new fic for a fandom that's not among my most popular ones, and the page is really buggy. The books take a while to load because there's so many and I have to manually click on "show more" after each load. It also often jams and I have to start it again. So obviously with 219 books, it would take even more time, would be more frustrating = I would stop updating again.

So, I hope you understand why it's impossible to do at the moment at least. Again, if you wish to only get notified when I publish a new fic for your favourite characters/want to browse through fics where only your favourite characters are the main focus, my AO3/Archive of Our Own is the only place to go. (Also a reminder that the website is completely free and has 0 ads)

Hiii! So im a big fan of your work and was wondering if you were going to do a Pin Hawthorne x reader/and or oc (from free rein)???? I think it would be great since you're just such an amazing writer. And even if you dont post a story like that, i just want you to know that you have such a great way with words and portraying emotions into your oneshots and stories.

          Have a nice day/night!!!!!!!!

swanimagines

@hotchocolategirlie No, Wattpad was first meant for OG fiction only, for people who wanted to publish their stories non-commercially. That's why they half-force you to make multichapter stories and make posting oneshots so hard, this site is meant for multichapter OG fiction. But people started to upload FF so they added the category. And later started to monetise their books and also created the paid book program, where they only take OG fiction though.

            Ooohh congrats, that's awesome!! <3

@swanimagines yea, I think it’s nice it’s more for the writers than for the the ppl owning the company.

Ewwww that would suck sm. Isint Wattpad like MEANT to be a FF base or smthg?? Like…

Yes, I feel like between work and your personal life, I personally would feel like Wattpad would be less in less in my life lol. Like you would publish less and stuff.

Talking about publishing, I just won a small writing competition at my local library and it’s going to be published into a real paper book with all the other short stories!!

@hotchocolategirlie It's okay, I've been out too for a bit!

Yep! And it being run by volunteers ensures they do it out of love and not for money = the features that are and will be added are truly awesome for writers and readers. Only things I think are missing are scheduling and series stats.

Yeah! Serieses is an amazing feature :)

Yeah, at least I think that's the reason why they don't do it... but it may end up in them being forced to ban FF.

Haha well that's going to take time, I'm a slowwww writer nowadays and I seem to come across more and more bumps all the time in my personal life which also slows me down.

Ok. I talked about Wattpad/crossposting in general with my friends and one of them told me some horror stories about Wattpad thieves (things she went through with them) and she got me persuaded to continue posting my stuff here to prevent such things from happening.

Also, a reminder that I do not take requests in Wattpad, only my Tumblr. My Tumblr is only for request-taking, AO3 is my primary posting place and now Wattpad is my secondary posting place. I get dozens of notifs and comments every single day across my books, so any request comments easily get lost here, so please don't. Taking one request here opens the doors for everyone else and soon I'll have angry people in my inbox asking after their requests/why haven't I replied to their requests. If you don't have a Tumblr account and are unable to create one, then you can't request, I'm sorry.

+ Another thing if you go to my Tumblr to request, I have 360+ requests waiting right now, so don't expect your request coming out anytime soon.

+ A small note: I know my fandom oneshot collection books are annoying, and character oneshot collections would be better (in Wattpad). I would do it otherwise now if I were to be transferred back to 2018, but now it's too late because it would be an ENOURMOUS work to rip them all apart because I have written for literally hundreds of characters, and on top of that, I would have to create covers for all of my books.

If you wish to read my fics for only a few of my characters or even just one, I need to redirect you to my Archive of Our Own (I'm swanimagines there too). All the characters have their own "folders" over there, and if you're a registered user or get an account, you're able to subscribe to the individual characters through those. The "folders" are called serieses and there's a tab for them at my works page in AO3. If someone needs further help, feel free to DM me and I'll show you screenshots.

swanimagines

Everything has been posted to my AO3 now :)

My username is princesswan (with only two s's) there in case you wanna follow my writing in the future too!

And in case you don't know what's going on, I decided to take everything down from here since I encountered so much disrespect, guilt tripping, threats, not understanding what a "no" means and just overall childish behavior every single week. I pondered it for months and asked advice from some friends and ultimately decided to take everything down here. So if you still want to follow me, I'm operating in AO3 now. You are able to read without an account there.

Jai-The-Bean

@swanimagines oh no, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'm happy that you made the decision for what works best for you. I hope that you don't run into this issue again. I love your writing so much, it's beautiful and amazing ❤️❤️❤️

I've taken all my books down because I'm gonna move completely over to AO3. Disrespect, children swarming in my books and terrible Wattpad staff/support made me do this decision. Example: one of the last nails was when I had this conversation in one of my books:

Them: "Hi... can you write [character] x fem reader? (the emoji with glossy eyes)"

Me: "Hey, sorry but I take my requests only on Tumblr. And worth to mention that I have over 300 requests in line, so your request would likely take a lot of time."

Them: "Oh... *sad tone* (crying emojis) I guess I have to unfollow you then... I just wanted you to write a [character] piece bc he's my bby (crying emojis) But now when you won't, I'll have to unfollow you and will cry forever... it was my bday and now you ruined it... (crying emojis)"

          So yeah, hopefully you understand.

It will take a few months until I've got everything set up in AO3, but I'll try to remember to make another announcement post when I finish doing it. Right now, there's nothing to see so don't bother finding it.
