Steven sat on the empty beach, his eyes moving from sand to stone, from rock pools to breaking waves. In the gentle moonlight he drew his favorite animal in a lined notebook. Pen scribbling, the gentle wind brushed through his blond hair. The gulls brought their hight notes to the percussion of pebbles at the shoreline. It was a night for excitement and dreaming, for allowing time to move fast and slow.
However, his trance broke when he saw someone walk across the shore. Alone. His eyebrows furrowed together as he stuffed his notebook into his backpack. What was someone doing here in the dead of the night?

Suddenly, the wind shifted and brought with it a scent that snapped her back to reality. Human. It had been some time since she had last fed and this human was ripe for the picking. Alone, as far as she could tell, and easy enough to dispose of. The gypsy deliberately feigned obliviousness and approached the man as though she could not see him until the last second. “Oh!” She cried out in alarm and clutched at her chest when she decided to acknowledge his presence. “You scared me half to death!"

morwenna was hiding in a tree, the troublemaker of a faerie up to her usual innocent version of no good. when lada walked by, she used her powers to summon a sprinkle of water on her head, followed by a random burst of confetti.

"Well Ocean Faerie, to become a vampire...it's a process. Short answer, if you are bitten, you will not become a vampire." She knew witches who were turned were an absolute menace and she wondered if the same rule applied to faeries. At the extension of Morwenna's arm, Lada gently pushed it away after a moments hesitation. "You don't know what you are asking for, Faerie." Although she'd never passed up a meal, even as a human, Lada wasn't sure what would come of sampling the Ocean Faerie. "I happen to tolerate your existence."

"older than dust? no, at least ocean faeries live into their mid hundreds usually. less if their wings are cut off" she told her, shrugging. "uh....i don't know what that is....but it sounds legit? i don't read a lot of...myths and legends. and some types probably do live forever. do vampires live forever? if you bite me, do i really become one? wait tell me if my blood tastes good" she rambled excitedly, holding out her arm.

Though Lada had centuries of practice, Morwenna's sudden proximity and uniqueness touched the hunger at the back of her mind. She had never eaten a Faerie before, nor did she intend to...at least, not this one so far. "I figured you were older than dust. I have heard of a legend, the Dark Smith of Drontheim. Whether he is fact or fiction, I do not know. But they say he is ancient, in the stories. Is there any truth to this? Do you Faeries really live forever?"
