If you were a Hunter-Prey lover, please read the first part of a “new” story I have up. Thank you <3 it explains why you can’t access the original story.

I will address this once, and once only. A concern was brought to my attention, and so I listened and attended to it. I understood, I sought to reason, and I attempted to share my side of the story. The other party was reluctant, and persisted. I remained respectful, because I understood, but I could only handle so much when I was indirectly being accused of copyright. My story wasn’t completely read to ensure that there was even a possibility of copyright, and the other party was, to put it bluntly, ignorant and entirely too frustrated to listen to anything.

This being said, I wish nothing but good things for this person. However, they were not the kindest when it came to this issue. Due to this, I expanded on my disclaimer in my story. Handle it respectfully, or I will ignore it.

          Thank you.

Hi,
I recently came across your story Hunter Prey and noticed many specific similarities to my original work Hunting Season. These include unique character designs, scenes, phrases, and story details that are clearly reflected in your chapters.

I have carefully documented the specific points where these similarities occur and can provide detailed comparisons if needed.

I want to kindly ask that you review these similarities and either acknowledge my original work or make changes to avoid further overlap. I hold all rights to my story and have not given permission for its use in any form.
I hope we can resolve this respectfully and avoid any formal copyright claims.

          Thank you for your understanding.

@DoctorRockhard “hunting season” is used less than a handful of times in the entire thirty-nine chapters of the story.

His abilities do not slow through seeing through animals, there is more to him that you’re being ignorant to. I got the glowing eyes from creepy pastas and another story “wife of bones.” In no correlation with your story.

His role of protector isn’t limited to forest, like I said, there is more to him and his lore. There is an entire realm, dwarves, pixies, castles and other elements in my story, all in relation to him and what he protects. He is not a simple forest protector.

The hunter identity is a given, as it is the underlining message and theme of the story. You do not own that, please do not get possessive over it.

I’ve been understanding, and I’ve been respectful. But I can only handle so many backhanded jabs.

Your stories are wonderful, and I’m sure I enjoyed reading them. I do not wish anything bad of you, I wanted this to be ended peacefully, but it seems that you cannot fathom that.

Thank you for the concern, I’ve credited you, I’ll submit whatever I have to, or whatever it is I’ll do. I will not change the entire plot of my story because of your frustration, for I have not copied you.

Thank you, I’m leaving this here. Have a wonderful day, and happy new years.

I understand what you’re saying, and I want to clarify my point once so there’s no confusion. I don’t believe I own general concepts like antlers, forest creatures, or gods of the woods…those things exist across folklore and horror.

The issue for me is the combination of very specific elements appearing together…the hunter identity, antlers, glowing eyes, repeated use of the phrase “hunting season,” his abilities, and his role as a protector/owner of the forest. When those details show up all together in one character, it starts feeling uncomfortably close to my original character and world.

I’ve explained my concern and submitted it through the proper channels, so I’m going to step back from this conversation now. I just wanted to clearly state my perspective once.

I hope you have a good day.

            -Nat

@DoctorRockhard the scene with the female protag? I purely put that there to help the buildup for her chase scene, to get to another character’s residence where things go down. Also, I think it’s a pretty cliche creepy pasta/horror movie type of scene (considering I was consuming that type of content at the time).

When I wrote chapters for Hunter Prey, I never left the story mid-writing, read someone else’s, and went back to implement whatever I read. Usually chapters were one and done, and if I had inspiration it’d pop up in my mind, not in what I was reading at the very second, if that makes sense. (sorry if this is so messy, lol, this is my first time dealing with something like this </3)
