Eleven chapters now? This keyboard's been burning up! Can you help? I'm looking for some honest feedback on the style and direction. Ya gotta trust the reader, and you are the, umm, aforementioned reader.

You'll find plenty about Max in his early years, before meeting the aggravating love of his life. You'll also get to see that first meeting as well as glimpse Marco a couple of years into the future. All the rest will fill in as the weeks go by!

Oh—and a number of the chapters now have illustration. Ohhh, yes. Pictures…

Once the keyboard cools down, I'll be back at it, working on presenting Marco's younger days, pre-Max. Expect it…soonish.

Hey there! It's been a minute, but I've got a great story to share: "The Weight of Our Expectation." This one's inspired by a drunken interrogation at pre-Covid party that sparked ideas about chance encounters and the weight of choices.

Meet Max: Science enthusiast, hidden artist, and completely misunderstood by his father, who's determined to mold him into his own "manly" image. He'd rather be cataloging beetles than dealing with humans. Too bad for him, summer vacation has other plans.

And let's not forget the lifeguard... He sees something special in Max, something that could change everything.

Little does Max know, there's another boy, driven by a different kind of ambition, one that clashes with his dad's definition of success. What if the path to your dreams lead straight into a nightmare? That's Marco's situation — a world where strength is both a shield and a vulnerability, and trust can be a dangerous illusion.

But that's a story for another summer.

Awkward encounters? Check. Unexpected allies? You bet. Villains around every corner? Not quite that many, but this story gets a whole lot more complicated for everyone as the years roll on.

Dive into the opening chapters now and help shape where the story goes! Your comments matter and I'll read them all.

There are different types of “annoy” so pick one. Will it be bother, bug, pester, interrupt, tease, disrupt, or something else? I await your decision. With anticipation.

@theMembership of course, I'd love to read your work. I added it because of your bio, never be afraid to write and to share what you have written, my dude. ✌

I added two, actually. And yes, I’m looking forward to the reads!

Speaking of which, you didn’t have to add my short story (Model Citizens) to your list. I know there’s no paybacks here on Wattpad. But if you do decide to read it one day, I’ll look forward to some comments and a critique. We’re all here to entertain and learn to write, right? So don’t hold back on me now. lol
