The name which serves as the starting point for all the many names people call me is Andrew James Jiao. I use the username "theamateurpotato" simply because I (think) am a potato and I don't get paid a peso for it. 

I am most interested in fantasy and historical fiction, though I do not confine myself to reading and writing within those genres alone. 

J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord Dunsany, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and F. Sionil Jose are my favorite writers, but I am very impulsive when it comes to reading books that I often find myself in the middle of reading too many books at the same time.
