While I have several books of mine that I’m in the process of writing, I have decided to participate in some of the ambassador-run writing challenges as a type of “writing exercise.” I am unsure as yet to which writing genre I am best suited to, and so I am going to try my hand at a few different ones.

To anyone following me, you may have noticed that I’ve published one already. It’s a short one, with a 3000-word max cap, but it is already available to read and has already been submitted to the Challenge.

Regency romance is something I like to read, but never thought about writing, as there are so many things surrounding it - such as the proper conduct, the way to address a higher standing member of the peer, etc. – and so although it is short, it may or may not be incorrect for the time period.

That said, it is a piece of fiction, and although short, I hope it is an entertaining enough read. More will follow in time, and I will also let you know when I publish one of my own stories. After 6 years of being on this platform, getting SOMETHING published on the site is a start!

Feel free to leave comments on the story, as it’s how I learn as a writer.

Thank you for adding Tir na nOg to your reading list. I had so much fun writing it. I love Irish folklore. <3

You’re very welcome! ☺️ I also love Irish folklore/mythology/legends/history - you name it! I’m actually in the process of trying to write one of my own in that genre, but I’ve been researching a lot and taking more notes than actual story writing so far! lol I want to do it justice and there’s so much to it that directions I originally wanted to go in have been turned around. I’m feeling my way through it, the more information I take in, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m hoping to go for one of the 8 chapter challenges at some point though.

I do like how Tir na nÓg starts, though! I’m trying to read it here and there, but once the bustle of Christmas and family go back home, I’ll be able to jump on it in earnest! It’s always nice to come across a story on Irish folklore, as I don’t see too many of those on WP.

Also—you read the DRAGONWALL SERIES!? Be still my beating heart. I can’t even. Bought what I could, read on here what I couldn’t. I love those stories. <3 xx

You’re very welcome! ☺️ I’m not too very far in the book just yet, but I really enjoy your writing style. It’s descriptive enough where I can see it in my mind, and that makes you a great writer, in my book. It’s engaging, keeps me on my toes for what might come next, the characters are diverse in their behaviorisms… All together, it pulls you into the world, and I enjoy that. That’s why I followed you, because I already know I’d be interested in reading whatever else you might publish later.
Ah, yes - Melissa’s series is one of my all-time favorites! I have all the books as well, and I am patiently waiting for Koldis the Green to begin being published here next month.
You have a great day as well! xx

I'm sorry, I can't answer on the book since I have been muted.

I actually don't agree. Like I said, for me the problem is the torture part which he enjoys. That's not about being the strongest or about controlling the world.
The problem here is enjoying torture, enjoying destroying sentient being both physically and mentally, just for fun. And that for me, is being evil because no justification can be accepted.

It's like the difference between beating a dog to make him learn or to prove him you're strong versus beating a dog because you enjoy hearing him scream.

Maybe you didn't feel that way but that's the way I see him.

I try too but that went too far for me. It was largly beyond my personnal ability to forgive or feel any kind of empathie.

I agree that he didn't change that much at the end, he don't regret, he hasn't lost anything, he has even suceed in his obsession. I see a lot of person thinking that now he respect her and in my opinion that cannot be further of the truth. She is the one who has adapted. If she wants to go away, there is absolutly no way that he will accept it. If she wanted to stay with the rebels, he would have taken her anyway.

That end did hurt me a lot. It made all the suffering in the book pointless to me. I mean he gets away with it, he don't suffer, he gain her, his brother and sister are still alive and they forgave him. Everybody lose but the evil guy ends up with all he ever wanted and a girl he tortured for months gets over it in 1 month max after even seeing him torture his own brother/sister and destroyed an entire world with probably a lot of innocent children on it. The world of people he cared about for century but he turn against them because of something his mother has done.

In my head I can't accept that ever. The only thing that I imagined that makes me feel better is that now, there will never be a being as strong as him ever since there will not be any purblood anymore. So at some point they will be to weak to destroyed the evil that eat some lands and their entire race will be extinct just because he made that selfish decision to be with the human.

I never though a book could make me feel so bad but it took me one week to get over it :)
It was well written but that end was definitly wrong for me, I couldn't take it.

I don’t know why I’m only just seeing this conversation now, but I can understand what you’re saying, and I don’t disagree with you. That being said, I’m the type to overthink things and try to see it from different viewpoints.

Likened to a child raised in a toxic abusive household, he grows up and that toxic abusive behavior is what he knows - ALL he knows. He’s going to be that way himself because he doesn’t know otherwise, doesn’t know that there’s another way. This is how I see Remus. Does that justify anything and everything he’s done? No, absolutely not. He was cruel, evil, and malicious. He needed help and there was nobody strong enough or daring to stand against him.

Having finished the book by now, I have to say that, while he didn’t change in to a better person per sé, I did see more character development with him at the end of the book than with any of the other characters, including the MC. As a dark romance, I enjoyed the strong emotions the author enticed us all to feel, despite everyone’s differences of opinion. Personally, I didn’t think they would wind up together at the end, nor did I expect them all to live. I started reading it, expecting it WOULDN’T be a happily ever after. And although they did wind up together, I wouldn’t exactly say it was happily either. They’re more connected in some aspects, but she’s still headstrong in her own opinions (which isn’t a bad thing), only she’s able to get away with it now, when she never used to be to do that. And as protective as she was of her child when she found out she was pregnant, I certainly didn’t expect that she wouldn’t be a caring and doting mother after he was born. If she were to raise him, sharing with him her own thoughts on things, he’ll grow up having different viewpoints on life. But if his father is the one to raise him? Who knows? ‍♀️

Hey Mariel! I wanted to thank you for reading my work and let you know i've enjoyed reading your comments. I have very limited time on Wattpad to respond to comments, so I usually prefer to stop by someone's page to let them know that i've read and enjoyed them. Thanks again for your support! It means a lot to me.

You’re very welcome! I am a first-time reader of your books, so I’m surprised at each chapter and excited to read on. I appreciate all the effort you’ve put into them and I can’t wait to see what comes next around each “turn of the page.” You are doing an amazing job, and I’ll be buying your published books to add to my collection. They’re THAT good! I know some of my comments on the paragraphs might be outlandish, but your words paint a picture in my head and I can see it going any number of ways, lol. Keep up the great work, and I’ll keep reading it.
