Thomasina won a UK competition for Best Unpublished Novel 10 years ago, then spent 5 years collecting rejection slips. So much for adding'Award Winning' to query letters. After 18 months slogging her way to the top of the Authonomy tree, Harper Collins, in their wisdom, turned the project down.
Best of all possible results, as things turned out.
Self-publishing made sense and within a year Thomasina had 3 novels in the Amazon top 100 chart and sold shed-loads of books, albeit under assumed names to avoid any 'told you so' style derision if the books turned out to be abject failures. She now wonders why she wasted so much time begging for the attention of publishers and agents when she could have been writing.
This new book, Section 47, is a fresh departure Different genre, different pacing and written without using a pen name.
Thomasina will never accept a book is ever 'finished,' and rewriting/editing are among her oldest and least appreciated friends.
One big question. Not so much will it sell, but the rather more prosaic question, does it work? Take a look at these chapters, chosen at random, and if you think it's pants, try to be constructive . If you like it, gushing is always welcome.
