Okay so let me tell you-
First of all, reality check, Harvard ki acceptance rate is VERY VERY LOW. Like 3-4% and it took me 2 years to clear it.
After 12th, I got into a pretty good college in Pune for Psychology while also preparing for SAT and IELTS. I mostly studied from books and I didn't have coaching classes for it but I can tell you a few books if you want.
So, Since I was applying in the second year my chances were even lower but it gave me a good idea of their criterion. I got around 1592/1600 in my SAT and IELTS (It is an english exam) I got 8.5 score. My score was good that's why they considered me.
Secondly, Your portfolio needs to be good, like really good, I was the head girl of my school, I was in multiple clubs, volunteered in many NGOs (Like CRY and Teach for India) and I had done many internships in psychology as well.
Thirdly, Harvard demands a personal statement and essay as well so this is where you need to shine. Your personal statement is about your life, struggles, personality, hobbies etc. and an essay is on the topic of their preferance.
I also got 2 letters of reccommendation written from my school teacher and from the place I had done an internship from.
It is very expensive so I took a student loan and my Visa was done through the invitation from Harvard. It is a very long process so if you want to go for it then you need to invest some time. I would suggest you talk to a counsellor who would give you the latest patterns.
