Happy 90th Birthday, ABC!
          The ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) has had a profound impact on me. From literally day one, when my mum listened to ABC radio stations in hospital after my birth, the ABC has had a constant presence in my life. 
          ABC TV, Radio and Online has inspired and fed my interests in the news, politics, international relations, geography, music, Indigenous Australian culture and so much more. It has also helped to keep me, my family and my friends safe in times of severe bushfires, floods and storms, when they provide their crucial service of emergency advice and information. I don’t know what we’d do without it. 
          For 90 years the ABC has informed, connected, entertained and served Australia and its communities. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for everything. Happy birthday, ABC. Here’s to another 90 years! ❤️

As a massive Whovian, I am so excited about the announcement that Ncuti Gatwa will be taking on the role of the 14th Doctor in Doctor Who. I can’t wait to see where he takes the role. ❤️❤️ I know that there will be people who are unhappy with this choice. But here’s a message that also applied to those misogynists who resented the casting of Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Doctor. To any racists or xenophobes who object to this casting decision, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WATCH IT! No one is forcing you to. If you don’t like it, switch it off and keep your hatred to yourselves.

As it is ANZAC Day, I would just like to take a moment to reflect upon, pay tribute to and be grateful for the sacrifices that men and women in Australia and New Zealand’s armed services have made over the past 107 years. I am proud to say that members of my trans-Tasman Sea (Tasman Sea is the body of water that separates Australia and New Zealand) family have served for Australia and New Zealand’s defence forces in times of war and of peace. I would like to pay particular homage to my grandfather who served during WWII in the New Zealand Merchant Navy, a branch of service that was ESSENTIAL to the war effort, but often goes without due recognition. My grandfather served on a wooden schooner (sailing ship) which carried munitions particularly gelignite (an extremely dangerous cargo to be carried in a WOODEN SHIP) across the Pacific Ocean, incognito. They posed as a ship carrying bananas and went almost entirely unarmed, at great peril to themselves.
          May the sacrifices of ANZACs from all branches of service always be remembered.

I feel it necessary to admit that… I might not be done with adding to the playlist… It’s up to my weird brain. There may be more songs to come.

I have created a Spotify playlist of all the songs I comment with in 'All the Wild Ones' by @amelierhys. It took me ages, but I did it! I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that the playlist totals at 213 songs! There are some duplicates, but not THAT many. Oh well... I LOVE music and 'All the Wild Ones' just seems to light up the right pathways in my autistic head that lead to... this. All of the songs are songs that remind me of different parts of the book. For some songs, only certain parts of the lyrics correspond with the part of the story in mind, but many of them fit the story very well overall. The playlist features MANY different genres. Almost every chapter features at least 1 of my song based comments, some of them have 8... Anyway...

          I am so INCREDIBLY proud of our Australian girls, who just won the ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup against England! It makes it all the sweeter that we were also undefeated during this World Cup tournament! I had faith that they’d bring it home, and not only did not disappoint me, but they took my expectations and hit them for six!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
