As a trans person, I've been getting into reading trans history which is also helping me a lot as a writer with world building!
Recently I read the book "Reclaiming Two-Spirit" by Dr. Gregory Smithers, and it was alright. It was an interesting look into the history of colonization done at the hands of white European Christians, but it unfortunately focused a lot on the violence and less on the reclaiming. A lot of reviews spoke about how it wasn't quite as impactful due to it being written by a white man, and I agree. Hopefully I can find sources written by Two-Spirit individuals!
