@dizzy_panda I'm happy for presha at least one person was left unscathed from St Agnes drama.. I never really thought of Joshua in that perspective and in a way your reasoning is a lot cleverer and realistic :)

Lady Lenora well I gues I sort of agree with you on that she did it to her self but honestly I was hoping for jack and Selina to find happiness with each other.. :(

It's sweet that Victor and Ethel were close in life and death.. In a way :) Lewis was a very smart man.. I also wanted him to have a future with Ethel as I think she was one of the most issues she should have a shed of happiness in a way she did with the children... :) but I respect your choices ..

dizzy_panda

Preshea actually does deserve a happy ending because she was a good person from the start and all she wanted was to offer Victor redemption and save him. Still, she made her wrong choices too, but I guess losing Victor would be her punishment for that.

Oh I'm so happy you enjoy my view of Joshua and Jacob :D I think, when I rewrite, I do have to work better on them, maybe it is TOO subtle.

This is the way I imagine it ending. But it isn't written! And it isn't written on purpose. On my view, Selina and Jack deserve their destiny and it makes sense for them to have sad endings. But if you want to picture that Jack goes to her and eventually saves her from herself and decides to live in Paris with her, nurturing the madness away or that he brings her back with him to St. Agnes and she becomes his light and reason to live, then you can! You totally can. I left it open exactly for that. If it makes sense to you and you feel they belong together and happy, then they do, eheh ;)

About Lewis and Ethel, well, there I can't tell you the same, since they both died Dx It wasn't easy. I loved Lewis and I ADORED Ethel. But in their case, I honestly couldn't see another ending. It is all that makes sense. It was coming and I can't honestly picture them having a different fate, although I really wish they would, if that makes sense xP

@dizzy_panda that is soo cool :) nd thanks for answering some of my questions in a way I'm glad tht Nicholas learns to forgive his brother and how he ends up as I think that really he didn't deserve what had happened to him - none of them did but yeah... If you don't mind could you answer the rest? Oh nd I wanted to ask you whether or not you minded me usin your idea of Ethel's lover Charles (how he changes... Alcohol..) in my assignment for English... If you do I totally understand :) and I won't use it.. But I do need to knw is that dog Jacob possessed??... Sorry that I keep asking you questions it's just tht your book is amazin I just... Am happy that you can answer them for me Thank you SO much!! Xx *virtual hug and gift of chocolates?* hehe....

dizzy_panda

Thank YOU for asking me those questions :D I'm more than happy to answer them, uhuh.

The endings aren't very happy (if at all) because all these people had tragic flaws and made terrible choices that should have consequences. That's why it has this tone.

Oh, you can use Charles at will, eheheh :P really, no problem! I'm flattered, even xD

@dizzy_panda really? What is your first language of you don't mind me asking? Oh nd for questions...Who helped Julias?

In the epilogue Is victors body actually in that cemetery?

Do Selina and Jack find a happy ending?

Does Nicholas move on and learn to forgive jack?

          Does presha find true love?

          What happens to Hannah?

Lewis was he just a reporter or was he also an undercover detective?

Why was Jacob always there when something bad had happened is it possessed?

Does lady Lenora ever find peace?

Does the detective who did all this get killed?

dizzy_panda

Jacob, in my mind, was always really just a toy. To little Joshua though, it was much more than that. Jacob was always there because Joshua was always there as well. Everything Jacob "told" Josh to say, it was Josh's own saying. Ultimately, I had two goals with Jacob: to show how incredibly observant and insightful Joshua was, to the point where his understanding of people's natures could come off as supernatural, and as a symbol of Joshua's childhood and innocence, which he ultimately lost.

No. Lady Lenora never finds peace. She lost both men she loved and, depending on how you see it, it was all her own doing.

I think Joshua and Alice eventually DO manage to kill Jonathan, as revenge for what he did to Victor and Ethel. What would come off it... I will leave you to imagine =P

Preshea already did find her true love - it was and will always be Victor. She was his true love too, but he only figured it out when it was already too late. She moves from St. Agnes with Joshua and Alice and, eventually, finds herself a good man and marries him. He makes her happy in a way Victor never could, because he was too busy being obsessed with revenge. She loves the man she married, but her heart and her true love will always belong to Victor.

Hannah returns to her parent's home, much to their dismay, alone and poor. They are forced to sell their belongings, including their beautiful mansion and have no choice but to move to the poorer area of St. Agnes. She feels ashamed, humiliated and broken from Jack's "betrayal" and she regrets not choosing him from the start. She remains beautiful though and has no trouble finding a partner. She marries him and learns how to work for her money. They have kids and she learns how to be a loving mother. They live a poor and difficult life. Her parent's never accepted her failure and her marriage and refuse to acknowledge her children as their grandchildren, even if they often go to her for money.

Lewis was really just a reporter. Only a very good and smart one. He felt enchanted by the mystery and would do anything to uncover it.

Yup. In the Epilogue, Victor's body IS in that cemetery, right next to Ethel's ='(

In my mind, Jack and Selina don't have a happy ending, especially not together. Jack looks for Selina to try and hold on to something within himself, that he found while he was with her, but that he already lost. He is now trapped in the same life his father had and that Nicholas was supposed to inherit, which, to Jack, is the worst punishment of all - the loss of his freedom. He is now the leader of the Skeffington's Empire and, by his choice, he plans to keep it that way, since he feels like he deserves it and like he owes it to his father and brother.

Selina will forever morn the death of her siblings and, at the same time, forever hope Victor will come and find her again. Part of her can't deal with the fact that she had her family back, only to lose them all again in such a tragic way. She allowed them to corrupt her and her innocence and she has to deal with that for the rest of her life. In my mind, she spends the rest of her life playing her violin, waiting for Victor to come.

Nicholas does move on and does forgive Jack. But he never returns home. He travels the world, communicating frequently with his mother and Jack by letters, until he eventually builds himself a humble home in a remote part of Spain. Unlike his brother, he refuses to use his family's money for support, he works hard to earn it, learning how to do basic and temporary jobs. He finds happiness in the simple and carefree life he now lives, but he never finds love again, because he finds himself unable to trust. Deep inside, he will forever be in love with Hannah.
