I can't believe I have to make an announcement for this, but some of these wp readers should learn manners.
An author writes for *free*, in their free time, between studying/school/work/taking care of kids/.. . They do not HAVE to write for the reader's sake.
If a book stops abruptly, then that's fine. If it's 'too short', then that's fine. If updates are once a year, that is fine.
I personally burned myself out very badly with writing one of my books because it kept receiving hate and more comments to update faster. I ALWAYS put warnings when my books are close to ending as well. So if you want to have a conversation in an author's own comment section about how horrible it is the author 'suddenly quit', that's on you. Because that kind of comments make authors quit.
For the dozen of comments on OD, I did give plenty of warnings. I even gave 'bonus chapters'. If you decide to skip every authors note or a sentence in cursive that says 'the end', then please do not complain in the comments. It's not because you have a conversation with another person, that the author can't read it and gets notifications from it.
It's disrespectful. If you can do it better, then do so. But do not drag other people down because of it.
(Again, this is not towards the people who are respectful and ask if there is any update following. It is to the people thinking they have the right to demand something from a complete stranger as if they get paid by the minute.)
