I actually adore the entire Todoroki family, which, I know Enji gets a lot of hate, but something is off when the anti-Endevour side of fandom love to point out he admits to being jealous and resentful towards All Might as proof he's the evil incarnate they believe he is only to ignore the second part of what he says about being willing to give it all up for Toya, calling him a liar and unreliable narrator.
Of course, this is the side of fandom that shits all over the Todoroki family for having an arranged marriage, saying the doctor was right for calling them out for their eugenics experiment, when in reality the one practicing eugenics was the doctor who misdiagnosed Toya as a toddler.
But to explain, one of the issues parents of special needs have to deal with is doctors telling them they're shitty parents for having dared to bring a special needs child into the world, and they're shitty parents if they think of having any more children.
They say, "Enji put all these ideas into Toya's head, so we'll never forgive them," but never, ever did Enji ever say Toya was a failure. It was adults outside of the Todoroki family, such as All for One vocalizing what Toya THOUGHT his father thought, or the doctor who diagnosed Toya being the first person to say Toya should never have been born in the first place. Not Toya's parents.
People easily forgive Rei when she scarred a child for life, never forgive Enji for hitting his wife twice and going sports dad on the training despite the fact both were going mad from grief, but it was honestly worse for Enji. There's tons of stuff not discussed because the focus has been on him being a shitty parent, but one of the things?
With that misdiagnoses, the doctor effectively told Enji he could no longer hold his own son, lest Enji's own Quirk harm Toya. So, yeah...
