Emilie's POV
I was sitting in my room after dinner packing for school. "Hey Emmy." I looked and saw Stiles leaning against my doorframe. "What are we about to do that we aren't telling Izzy or Dad?" I asked knowing my brother's mischief smile. "I'll tell you on the way." He said. I rolled my eyes putting on my sneakers and green jacket. I ran downstairs and got in Stiles's Jeep. "So?" I asked. "A half dead body was found so you, Sage, Scott, and I are going to find the other half." Stiles said. "Did you listen to Dad's calls again?" I asked. "Yep." Stiles said. We got to Scott and Sage's place. We walked up to the house and Stiles was suddenly hanging upside down from rope and I bit my tongue from laughing, I saw Scott and Sage come out with a baseball bat and the three screamed. "Stiles and Em, what the hell are you two doing?" Scott asked. "Country line dancing." I said sarcastically. "You weren't answering your phone." Stiles said. "Why do you two have a bat?" I asked. "We thought you were predators." Sage said. "A pre... Look, I know it's late, but you two gotta hear this." I said. "I saw my dad leave 20 minutes ago. Dispatch called. They're bringing in every officer from the Beacon Department, and even state police." Stiles said. "For what?" Scott asked. "Two joggers found a body in the woods." Stiles said and got free from the rope "A dead body?" Sage asked. "No, a body of water. Yes, dumb-ass, a dead body." I said. "You mean like, murdered?" Scott asked. "Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her 20s." Stiles said. "Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?" Sage asked. "That's the best part. They only found half." I said. "We're going." Stiles said. "We're seriously doing this?" Scott asked. "You're the two always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town." I said. "We were trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow." Sage said. "Right, 'cause sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort." Stiles said, don't know what my brother is talking about he's also a bench warmer. "No, because we're playing this year. In fact, I'm making first line." Scott said. "Hey, that's the spirit. Everyone should have a dream, even a pathetically unrealistic one." I said to my crush smiling. We rode to the edge of the woods in the Jeep. "Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?" Sage asked as we got out. "Huh! I didn't even think about that." Stiles said. "And, what if whoever killed the body is still out here?" Sage asked. "Also something I didn't think about." Stiles said. "You never think these through." I said. "It's comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail." Scott said. "I know." Stiles and I said. "Maybe the severe asthmatics should be the ones holding the flashlight, huh?" Sage asked. I walked in the woods holding the flashlight. "Wait, come on!" Stiles said. "Stiles, Em! Wait up! Stiles, Em!" The two yelled. "Hurry up." I said. We were walking and heard a yell and dog barking at two of us. "Hold it right there!" Someone said and Stiles and I turned. "Hang on, hang on. These little delinquents belongs to me." Dad said. "Dad, how are you doing?" Stiles and I asked. "So, do you listen in to all of my phone calls?" Dad asked. "Not after Izzy signed you up for that dating website." I said. "Not the boring ones." Stiles said. "Now, where's your usual partners in crime?" Dad asked. "Who, Scott and Sage?" Stiles asked pretending to be confused. "Sage and Scott are home." I said lying through my teeth. "They said he wanted to get a good night's sleep for the first day back at school tomorrow." Stiles said. "It's just us. In the woods. Alone." I said awkwardly. "Scott, Sage, you out there? Scott, Sage?" Stiles said. "Well, young man and lady, I'm gonna walk you back to your car. And you two and I are gonna have a conversation about something called invasion of privacy." Dad said. We got home and Isabelle was sitting on the couch smirking. "So you two got in trouble?" Isabelle asked. "Izzy go up to your room." Dad said. "I'm 23 Dad, you can't send me to my room anymore." Isabelle said. "Yes, but you live in my house so room now." Dad said. Dad made Stiles and I sit on the couch. "You two should know better than to pull a stunt like this." Dad said. "Sorry Dad." Stiles and I said. "Okay now rooms." He said. I ran upstairs to my bedroom. I walked in.
