chapter 4: new kid, who dis

i gawked at payton as she did the same at me.

okay maybe this greek goddess and god thing was real. i shook slightly frozen to my place because i don't even know where the aphrodite cabin was located. parker rolled his eyes and went up to pull me toa table. we sat down and a bunch of girls and boys welcomed me and asked for my name as i mumbled the answer.

remember luna, this is only a bad trip. bad trips don't last forever. you'll be okay. i took a deep breath as our cabin trudged back to well our cabin. parker gave me a soft smile before leading me into the common room. there was a tv on the wall as well as a vanity by the window which looked enchanted perhaps? i blinked and turned my attention to where there was a giant teddy bear. there were also some bookshelves with books and in the back there was a gaming area. parker led me upstairs to the dorming rooms.

"my room is empty so you can share with me." he said with a smile. honestly i was just happy that he wasn't dragging me anywhere or getting upset at my stupidity. he and i walked up some flights of stairs before heading into a room. it had a magnificent view of the camp outside. on the wall above the window was a katana. as i was staring, parker started talking.

"i won that, in capture the flag i was the one who helped our cabin win. chiron gave that to me." i nod along to what he said and i notice there's a switch set up and little plushies on his bed as well as there being a spare bed in the corner. he smiled, "i know this isn't your apartment but please feel free to call this your home."

i put pooh bear on the bed as parker goes to a closet outside to go get some sheets. parker comes back and gives me the sheets and offers to help me put them on the bed. i respectfully decline his offer and just make the bed myself humming a tune as i do it. parker looked at me just to let me know, "i'm just going to change, i hope you don't mind." i shrugged and looked up from my phone, "i don't mind."

parker then takes off his shirt and it revealed a violet binder, i kinda shrugged and looked back down at my phone reading a wattpad book. it was about how 8 half bloods have to go on a journey to save the world by an author by the name of ghxt-girl. huh..weird, the main character is similar to me. i shook myself and then went back to reading and losing myself in the book. i hummed quietly to myself and looked up to find parker playing on his nintendo now in kuromi pajamas and my melody fluffy pajama pants. i was about to say that i have no pajamas or clothes but parker cut me off.

"we transported all your clothes here, they're in that chest" he said not taking his eyes off animal crossing. i peaked in the chest and sure enough they were in there. i put on one of my hoodies and a pair of shorts and then hit the led lights on and turned off the lights. "goodnight parker!" i said and then i turned so my back was pressed against the wall and i fell asleep.

when i woke up, parker had already gone. his bed was kinda mess but i mean from what i've gathered these past three days, that's probably just how parker rolls. i hoped out of bed and placed pooh bear back a top of it and dug in my case and pulled out a plaid skirt and a cream turtleneck as well as my black doc martens. i went downstairs to the vanity and just applied some mascara that i had found there. i looked around for parker to find him reading a book. his eyes looked up from the pages when he caught my stare at him. "yes?"

"uhm can you show me around the camp.? robert didn't get the chance too and i slept most of the day yesterday." i asked meekly. parker smiled and let out a soft sure as i trailed behind him. first, he showed me all the cabins. he showed me how each god and goddess has their own cabins with the new ones being the hades, iris, hypnos, nemesis, nike, hebe, tyche and hecate. he explains how the hera and artemis cabin are just honorary but at the times the hunters come and sleep in artemis' cabin.

next, he shows me the big house and explains how that's where mr.d and the other camp director, chiron, enjoy playing games and it's where the meetings for major events, such as the one from last night, take place. next, he shows me the dining pavillon and explains how that is where the camp eats. i see some people there eating and check my phone. its already 10:30 in the morning jeez. time goes by when you're getting shown around a fever dream. "parker is it okay if i hang out with the other kids from their supposed prophecy bullshit?" i ask hoping he'll say yes.

"yeah sure! we can do the rest of the camp tomorrow." he smiles, "amir's cabin is hephaestus' cabin. he's probably in his room tinkering with his alexa. caelum's cabin is hades' cabin, he normally reads his books but since he's alone he probably will want company. i'm not sure though it's hit or miss. lastly, cade is probably at the beach swimming or something."

i nodded and murmured a thanks and headed to the hephaestus cabin. sure enough, amir was tinkering with his alexa and let out a string of colorful words when he got a tidge bit electrocuted. his aqua eyes looked up to meet mine as a smile found a way to his face. "hey luna"

i panic and crouch down next to him "uh your arm is uhm doing a tense up-" i mumble before he cuts me off and laughs. "nah don't worry this happens a lot."

i let out a sigh of relief and scooch back to give him space. "i just wanted to get to know everyone a little before even discussing the prophecy..so what's your story?" i ask while casting my russet eyes onto him. amir took a deep breath and smiled at me, the smile held a sense of sadness and i sat attentive to all of the words as they began falling from his mouth.

"well, i never met my dad, obviously, but my mom did a damn good job raising me. i have two older brother who have a different dad than me although one of them looks a lot like me, we could be twins! i used to have turtles but i had to give them away. i adore music and tinkering so i like hanging around apollo's cabin and helping the kids there with their music related things. i love making things and helping people..i just.. sometimes it feels like, i love too much. i guess. what about you?"

i proceed to tell him my own life story. about how my dad was never around and i was filthy rich. how i was told that my mom left me because she hated me and my father. how i was an only child and then i realized. maybe i shouldn't go more in depth. i just told him my likes and dislikes and smiled at him. he gave me a lopsided smile back as a pink dusted his cheeks. i bid him a goodbye as he went back to working on his alexa. as i was walking across to the hades' cabin, i bumped into aurelie. i toppled down as he gave me a disgusted look. "you're such an airhead." he snorted, his amber eyes looking as dead as the leaves in autumn. " payton is much more fun than you, its a wonder how she hangs around you."

"oh shut up you irritating piece of dog shit." i growl getting up. "you act like you're all that but honestly i could step on you and i don't think anyone here would care." he glared at me as his face softens into a smile.

"maybe you might just be worth my time." he said, his eyes now shedding their coldness and looking more crazed than usual. i shoved past him and entered the hades' house and sure enough caelum was there eating a green apple and reading a book. "oh hi luna." he said. he offered a small smile and i sat next to him, "what can i do for you?"

i took in his appearance. today he was wearing a black turtleneck and black slacks with a silver gucci belt and he had on a silver chain to match with the belt. "i just wanted to spend sometime with the other prophecy kids and get to know them better." i said with a soft smile.

caelum began telling his life story. "i adore my mother, as it is only the both of us in our home. it is a tradition in her family to name the kids after the stars. which is where my full name comes from. caelum scorpius." i gazed at him in awe, his name is so beautiful. he gave me a cocky smirk, "i know, beautiful, right?"

i nodded as he continued, "i grew up having a lot of money and being wealthy i suppose. i don't really think i have much else to say." he shrugged. i smiled and then began to retell what i had previously told amir. when we finished talking, he tossed me an apple and offered me a smile as i left to go find cade.
