Ahsoka's POVI woke up with a bright light in my face. I could only see out of one of my eyes. It feels like something is over my right eye. I look around and see that no one else is in the room. I sit up and I am dizzy for a second. Something starts beeping, a doctor runs in and makes me lay back down.
He checks a few monitors then takes a needle that was in my arm out. I reach up and try to take off whatever was on my eye, but he pulls my hand away. He grabs what must be the end of the bandage and carefully pulls it off. He takes a cloth and carefully wipes ,where the bandage was, off with disinfectant. He then hands me a mirror to look at my eye. There is a scar and it almost reminds me of the one Anakin has.
He says I am fine to leave so I hop off the bed I was on and head out of the room I was in. Once I walked outside I saw that we were in the capital city and almost everyone was sitting down and resting or cleaning up debrea. There was also the council, it looked like there were talking to someone on a hologram but just as I started walking towards them the hologram turned off. They realize that I am out of the room so they walk over to me.
" Are you feeling better 'Lil Soka'?" Plo koon asks. " Yeah" I say. " who was that?" I ask. " Jedi knight Caleb Dume, we know you guys were friends and we asked him to come here, he wanted to see you" Obi-Wan says. ( Caleb and Ahsoka are the same age, they trained as padawans together, they were really close friends. This does not mean anything is going on between them ) I nod my head. Then I see a building with the doors wide open, inside I see a bunch of white clothes, these must be all of the soldiers we lost.
I walked into the building and saw that there weren't too many loses. At the front of the building though I can see two bodies, side by side, on platforms. I realise that they are my Uncle and brother. I walk up to them and take a shaky breath in and take the sheet off of my brother. He touched the side of his face, it was so cold. I put the sheet back and walked away.
The next day is the funeral. I had decided I wanted to bury my uncle, brother, and fallen soldiers underneath a tree where they would save slaves who were about to get hanged. They would come and knock out the executioner, then save the slave and bring them to freedom. At this tree they also hung 'traitors' or people who did not follow the laws the separatists had.
I get up out of my bed and put on a black cloak, then walk out of my room. I walk around a corner and see my niece sitting down in a chair, she had on a black dress. She sees me and runs over to me. I pick her up and we hug. I walk over to a table and grab flowers that I had picked out for today. I chose them because they were my mothers favorite flowers. My uncle's sister, my brother's mother. I know they both loved these flowers.
I walk out of the building I was staying and see some of the surviving soldiers ready to escort the caskets. I walked to the front where my brother and uncle's caskets were and I started walking. The caskets followed behind me. We walked them through the town. While walking I think of a song that my brother had made up about the hanging tree. I start singing it. ( the song above, I know it is from the hunger games but I thought it really went with this scene)
Are you, are you, coming to the tree
They strung up a man, they say who murdered three
Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be
If we met at midnight, in the hanging tree
Are you, are you, coming to the tree
Where dead man called out, for his love to flee
Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be
If we met at Midnight, in the hanging tree
Are you, are you, coming to the tree
Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free
Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be
If we met at Midnight, in the hanging tree
Are you, are you, coming to the tree
Wear necklace of hope side by side with me
Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be
If we met at midnight, in the hanging tree
Are you, are you, coming to the tree
Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free
Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be
If we met at Midnight, in the hanging tree
While we get to a more crowded part of town I see people realise what I am singing and start to follow the caskets, singing the song with me.
Are you, are you, coming to the tree
They strung up a man, they say who murdered three
Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be
If We met at Midnight, in the hanging tree
We reached the tree and buried the soldiers. No one said anything, we just stood there in grief. As I was laying my the flowers down on my brother and Uncle's grave, everyone in the crowd finished the last verse of the song
Are you, are you, coming to the tree
Where dead man called out, for his love to flee
Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be
If we met at Midnight in the hanging tree.
