Adalie woke beneath a starry sky, the brine of the ocean winding through her nose, Tokyo city looming bright on the horizon.
Filled with promise. And absolution. The brass bell on the bow of Luca's Yacht tolled in the twilight hour, the time of day her friend India called “the gloaming.” It was—in Adalie's mind—a very cool thing to say.

The moment Adalie heard the bell clang again , she made her way portside, She had fallen asleep on the deck again . Inky tendrils of darkness fanned out across the sky, a ghostly mist shrouding the  City. The air thickened as Adalie listened to the yacht sluice through the waters , drawing closer to Tokyo . Farther from the lives they’d left for a little while .

light footsteps trailed in her wake.
She turned to see Luca coming to a standstill before her

He sniffed and rubbed his nose. In that instant, he looked younger .
“For all the stories, is it as pretty as you thought it would be.”
“It’s exactly what I thought it would be,” Adalie said in a reassuring tone.
“Don’t lie.” Luca glanced at her sidelong. “Its better.”
A smile curled up Adalie's face. “Maybe I’m lying for me as much as I’m lying for you.”
“In any case, lying is a sin.”
“So is being obnoxious.”
“That’s not in the Bible.”
“But it should be.”
Luca coughed, trying to mask his amusement.  Adalie laughed, "I love how your accent weaves through words like fine Chantilly lace." Luca smiled at her .

“I’d wager you haven’t met many exotic girls ? .” she said

He smirked but kept quiet . His mysterious in a way that draws you in which sets a torch of desire ablaze in Adalie's abdomen

Just hours ago , they had left Roi-De-France together and went straight to Luca's black superyacht called ' The Celine ' which she was sure was his mother's name . She had left the country without telling her friend Priscilla a thing . But in all fairness she knew how Priscilla felt about Luca and was certain her friend would've stopped her from boarding his yacht . this will backfire on her she knew that but she just had to make sure she Calls.
she doesn't have any possessions with her , running around halfway across the world with someone she only met twice  not to mention who's brother threatened to kill her if she didn't stay away from him & yet here she was . it amazes her how foolish she can behave sometimes
