Draco's POV:
The feast is finally over. I really can't stand when Pansy talks and talks and talks...

The new girl is quite interesting, although she couldn't have noticed that I am not completely unbothered.
I have noticed that Blaise is interested in her, the way he looks at her and laughs when she says something is just pathetic. He is trying way too hard to impress her and she is too easy to impress. I don't even know why I have to think about her that much...

"Draco? Are you alright?", Blaise asks me. He looks confused. Has he said something to me before? Probably. But I don't listen as carefully as I should.

"Yes, I'm fine", I answer.
"I just asked you something", he replies.
"What?", I ask.
„I wanted to know what you think about Adeline."
„Nothing. She is a normal, average girl."
„She's not average at all... she is beautiful and funny.."
„Shut up, Blaise. I don't care about stuff like that. And I still think that she's boring."

Blaise looks at me like I told him some sort of joke. I raise an eyebrow and he looks away. He wants to avoid an unnecessary fight, which I welcome.

Why did Adeline transfer to Hogwarts in the first place? I don't believe that her parents just wanted to move, there must be something.
But then again, why would she tell me? I wasn't nice to her at all...

"I'm going to bed", I tell Blaise and leave the common room.
This girl is really annoying me. Why do I think about her that much? It really sucks....

Adeline's POV:

Pansy shows me the common room and then we go upstairs to the dorms. We share a dorm with two other girls, one called Keira and the other one called Sarah. They are both nice and lovely, but I don't think we have a lot in common. I should stick to Pansy.

Pansy tells me about Draco's family and his heritage and I am quite impressed. I've heard about the Malfoys before but I haven't realized that they are that powerful. That explains why Draco is so arrogant.
Pansy and I have almost an identical schedule, she doesn't take Arithmancy though.

"Potions is quite boring but Professor Snape prefers us so we get good grades.... charms is interesting and the teacher is nice...", Pansy explains and I have to laugh.
"You do know that I've been to school before, right?", I ask while I laugh.
She looks at me and blushes a little but then she has to laugh too and we sit on her bed and just laugh.

"I think Blaise likes you", she says after a while.
"Yeah?", I ask.
"Totally. The way he looks at you and stuff... he's always smiling when you're around."

I haven't noticed that but actually I'm not interested in Blaise in that way. I just need some friends.

"Umm... I don't know, Pansy, you could be wrong though..."
"You don't have to date him or something, but if he told you he likes you... would you, like, go out with him sometime?"

I think about her question. No. I don't want to go on a date with him.

"Umm... we could just spend some time together, right?"
"Yeah... this is all hypothetically... maybe he won't even tell you he likes you and just get over it when he notices that you aren't interested."

That would be the best. I wouldn't want to lose him as a good friend.

"Enough, Addy, don't worry about Blaise. We should go to bed, it's quite late. Tomorrow is your first day of school", she says and grins at me.
We wish each other a good night and I fall asleep quickly.
It's been a long day.
