Adeline's POV:
When I wake up it's about 6 am. I open my eyes and sit down to look whether Pansy is up as well. I spot her and see her still sleeping so I stand up quietly to not wake the other girls up.
I put on a dressing gown and go to the common room.
Since my first class is at 8:30 I still have a lot of time and I don't feel like having breakfast already, besides, I should probably wait for Pansy, I decide to read a book.
I see an armchair that looks really comfortable and inviting so I sit down and start reading in my favorite book.
I sit there for a while until I hear the door. I turn around to see Draco standing in his school uniform and I immediately feel uncomfortable because I am still in my night dressing.
He looks at me with a surprised gaze, before his face turns cold again.

"Up already?", he asks me.
"Obviously", I reply in the same way he speaks to me. I really don't want to talk to him right now.
I look at him again and realize he hasn't done his hair yet. His messy hair looks very attractive but I would never admit that so I shake my head lightly and keep reading. I feel him staring at me.

"What do you want, Draco?", I ask him coldly.
"What would I want from you?", he replies even colder.
I ignore him. It would be pretty dumb to start some kind of fight now so I just keep reading.

"What's your first lesson?", he asks after a few moments.
"Charms", I reply.
"Right..."
I look up and see him still standing in the same spot, so I gesture him to sit down next to me. For a short moment I can see him thinking about actually doing it, but then his face turns ice cold again.

"I have to go the library before class, maybe next time", he says. I nod and he leaves the Slytherin common room.

Oh god. Why would I ask Draco to sit next to me and spend time with me? I must be crazy and I almost have to laugh about my own naiveness.
I continue to read and after thirty minutes I go to the dorm and dress up. I put in my school robe and pack my bag so that I could go to class right after breakfast. Pansy is up as well and is already dressed so she's waiting for me to be ready.

"Are you excited?", she asks me.
"Yeah..."
"You don't have to be. Believe me, after a few weeks this place will be boring. I was amazed in the beginning and now it's nothing more than a school."
"Yeah, you're probably right..."
"Besides, I believe that Beauxbatons is quite a nice place as well."
"It is. It really is. But I never really felt like I belonged there."
"That's because you belong here."

I smile at her and in this moment, I am really grateful to have such a nice friend. I mean, yeah, she is very quirky and she talks a lot, but I don't mind that, I actually enjoy it.
I decide to tell her about my awkward Draco moment.

"... yeah and then I just asked him to sit down next to me."
"You did what? Why would you do that? He wasn't even nice!"
"Right? I don't know... I spoke before I could think, I guess. But I didn't expect him to say yes so I wasn't disappointed."
"Maybe he wanted to, but he actually had to go to the library..."
"On first day of school? Yeah, no."

Pansy can't find any other excuses so we don't talk about this topic anymore. We leave the dorm and head to the great hall to have breakfast.
I find my thoughts drifting to Draco again, but I ban him out of my head. It's my first day of school and I have to be at my best.
No distractions.
