Once, death knocked at the door as a neighbour, but they managed to shut him out, which brings them to this date...
......................................................................Even on a lazy Sunday, the ever- radiant sun climbed up high above the sky after crossing the horizon with great might beating the night. The street was filled with crushing, candy - coloured cars with people rushing to roam. The heavily weightless dust and smoke knocked at the window which was comfortably placed on the fourth floor. The transparent window turned translucent in no time. Peeping out of the window was a bent finger running up and down the finely lined dust, drawing up a wierd portrait of a tea cup. The finger moved until it was joined by another ringed index finger which drew up dreamy patterns of its own. While the naughty, or better mischievous fingers were fighting for their spot on the dirty window, a voice called,
"Breakfast is ready for those awake!"
The day waved a nice and windy howdy at Tanya's sleepy face. She had just woken to see Janvi and Swetha race past her after doodling on the window. Why wouldn't they run for the breakfast when it was skilled Janu's cooking! Tanya pitied Hema and Siya who were still asleep, for they weren't lucky enough to inhale the aroma of fresh, hot aloo sabzi that invited her to the kitchen. It was enough for her laziness to vanish, as she quickly wrapped her bed up and flew to brush.
Navya, Janvi, Swetha and Janu were already at the table, while Tanya joined them to eat. The news headlines read, " 'Anyonia Gaff's novel "Stars from dust" becomes the most read book on the Whypad.' 'The next dawn will mark the seventh anniversary of the unexplainable gravity mess up that took place near the Indian peninsula.' 'Scientists predict the creation of a new volcano near Antarctica, the paradise of snow.', 'Do not miss our new talk show 'Chai pe Charcha' only on NEWSLAND!'"
The other two also woke up to the news and Janu's call, and they were no different from Tanya as they rushed to the table after brushing. Anything could wait when breakfast was Puri!
After having a Puri, Siya turned her camera on to record a vlog. She lifted her phone, and started recording the video,
"Hey all! How have you all been? Long time, no see! It has been a week since we met! Today, as you all have requested, I am going to show you all how to... eat Puri! First, you place your finger..."
"Does someone even post videos to teach people how to eat Puri at home? How can someone be so sensationally senseless?", Hema enquired. "Let us not comment on her hobby, Hema!" Navya interrupted.
But besides the argument, they enjoyed the way Siya was engaging herself, though it seemed crazy. After posting a picture with the fluffy Puris, they resumed eating.
After munching some delicious breakfast, everyone gathered in the living room. Today was Sunday, so they could slightly relax themselves from the daily machine-like working system.
......................................................................
That glimmering white dot on a dark background was the last image that their eyes had captured before they shut. There they were, unconscious on a rural road near a forest. They were a bit heavily bruised, but unfortunately not a soul in the village knew of this; some believed in the popular superstition about spirits paying the jungle a visit every night, while many feared the wild beasts that roamed the place.
