Not Harry and Draco, seeing them both at the same time might have caused her to simply pass out, or feel very very nauseous in her stomach or even worse she could freeze to death, she knew she wouldn't know how to handle that situation, even the thought, the idea of it made her sick to her stomach.
But thankfully -not so thankfully but it could be worse- it was Harry and Ginny.
Alice liked Ginny, and to her surprised the red headed Weasley was also quite fond of her, Alice always thought that Ginny was a nice girl and seemed like a great fit for Harry.
Alice also always knew that Harry had eyes for her, and so did Ginny, she could tell they enjoyed each other's company, Alice wasn't jealous or anything she was actually glad that they both find their own happiness within each other.
She realized that her and Harry couldn't manage that and that was okay, she honestly just wanted to best for both.
But a part of her wanted to avoid them because she thought it would be really really awkward, and she was afraid of what Draco would think if he saw her with them.
Even if it was just Harry standing next to Alice, the thought of it made her nervous again.
As Harry and Ginny slowly walked to their seats next to Hermione and Ron and of course.. Alice, she tried her best to not have an eye contact with them until they actually came to the table.
As the pair approached the table hand in hand smiling, Ron and Hermione both got up, wanting to greet their friends, Alice mentally cursed herself as she realized if they got up she had to get up and greet them too.
Even if she thought it was the most awkward thing ever, she also mentally cursed herself for caring so much respect and kindness.
She slowly got up and was behind Ron and Hermione, as Alice was averting her gaze from the pair, her eyes caught onto something worse.
Draco, Draco Malfoy. He was sitting in the Slytherin table, next to Zabini, Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy.
Her fake smile turned into a frown as she noticed Draco's fiery gaze on her, making her freeze in her spot.
The two dysfunctional pair stared at each other for a few seconds but it felt like hours to them as Alice finally broke the gaze her hand nervously shaking at the sight of the boy.
She turned around to the happy couple to greet them, trying her best to not make it an awkward situation, but she did.
For some reason she decided to hug Ginny, which also meant she had to hug Harry too, she was internally screaming at her stupidity as she let go of Ginny and now had to hug Harry, Harry's hug was a bit tight, causing her to simply move away much quicker than Ginny's, as the awkward moment was finally over.
Everyone went to their places, Alice did the mistake of gazing into Draco's eyes once more, Draco nearly always gave the girl a look that contained love and softness.
This look was nowhere to be seen now, his grey eyes were filled with rage and he was giving her a full on death glare, his jaw was visibly clenched, her heart winced at the sight of the boy.
It could be seen that Alice's eyes contained sadness, she half smiled to the boy, but the boy was not having it and coldly stared for a few seconds then returned to his friends.
Alice sighed at the boy and tried her best to avoid anything with him, she simply returned to her food and her friends, trying her best to chat with them and distract her mind from the angry blue eyed boy.
She actually did manage that for a while, the Gryffindor house's table filling with laughter, mostly with Alice's sweet chuckles and Hermione's giggles as Ron made her laugh way too often.
It was all fine until she heard the voice of Malfoy, angry and leaving his table, she knew if she followed him she would regret it, but she didn't want to leave him like that, once again she cursed herself for her kindness and caring too much.
She slowly excused herself from the table, apologizing and running after the Slytherin boy.
