chapter 2
I want to speak to your manager

   "Kusumoto!" Her coworker, Sawa Sakiko yelled to her from across the room. They often did photoshoots together or photoshoots in the same building. That drew them closer together and they would spend time together before and after shoots. Kusumoto did not care about honorifics so she has everyone call her by her first name.

"hey! I love the new hair!" Kusumoto complimented as they held each other's hands. "Thanks so much! The director doesn't like it that much though," she complained as she twirled a strand of hair between her fingers.

"by the way, someone asked me about you,".

"who," Kusumoto let go of her hands and turned away. they both walked toward the food table and picked out some breakfast as it was 6 Am.

"Tooru Oikawa?" she attempted to pronounce the name, "He says you two went to school together!".

Kusumoto grimaced, "don't talk to him ok? and don't tell him about me,". Sakiko gave a puzzled look to Kusumoto, "is he an ex??".

Kusumoto shook her head rapidly, "That douche?? no way!" they both laughed in unison, "I don't know how you would describe our old relationship.". she looked around quickly before closing some of the space between the two, "I'll tell you but promise not to share ok?".

Sakiko nodded cheerfully and put her ear toward Kusumoto, "He rejected me. pretty badly might I add,".

Sakiko gave Kusumoto a look full of pity, lips formed into a pout, "rejected you? how bad was it?".

Kusumoto looked around once more before finishing her statement, "I had to move schools,".

the younger girl gasped loudly causing some looks from nearby workers, "Keep it down!". Sakiko gave Kusumoto a tight hug and nuzzled her face into the crook of Kusumoto's neck.

   "ok, let's get back to work now," She rubs and pats Sakiko's back before pushing her off. Sakiko has always looked up to Kusumoto as her 'model mom'. She looks up to her and wants to follow in her modeling career footsteps. so she often confides in Kusumoto and Kusumoto has to act like her motherly figure.

As Kusumoto finished her shoot for the day, her manager pulled her to the side. "Iwa. have you talked to anyone new recently without my knowledge?".

"me?? no, not that I know of.".

"I got a call from Tooru Oikawa's manager. He has a sponsored photoshoot next week and has requested you accompany him. did you two talk at all?".

Kusumoto cringes at Oikawa's futile attempts to contact her. it was going completely out of his way. it was very unnecessary. "I don't want to go. sorry,".

"I don't think there is much of a choice. this will be so good for you! your career could skyrocket!" her manager tried to convince her.

Kusumoto avoids eye contact and nervously plays with her fingers, "I -.. I don't know. just a shoot ok? I don't want lunch, I don't want to talk, just the shoot. alright? can you tell them that,".

the woman nods, "I can do that for you. are you sure though? you seem on edge. I'm sure another huge shoot like this will come eventually. we can wait until then,".

it took 5 years for this opportunity to come, 'can I really wait 5 or more years? again?' she thought. "I'll do it. I promise I'm fine!".

"good. now go fix yourself up. We have another photoshoot before meeting for dinner. it's a nice place so get dressed up,".

Kusumoto gave her a thumbs up, "Free dinner you say?? I'll be there!".
