Chapter Three: Wake Up Kiss

You knew that the guild hall would still be open;Mirajane liked to work late. You just hoped Wendy would still be there, you wanted to ask about Grays condition.

It had been four days since Gray had collapsed at your feet and you had worried about him ever since.  You had already caught and killed the thugs who tried to murder Gray. But you still weren't satisfied.  You wanted them to die a million times over.

You kept these thought with you as you spoke to Mira

"Hi,  Mira... is Wendy still around? " you ask politely

"Oh hello Y/N! You just missed her. You're welcome to go through and see him though. "

It was no secret that you had been seeing Gray every day since the incident. He had slept for three days straight and besides Wendy ( who had come in to heal him) you were his only visitor.

"Thanks Mira"

You walked to the entrance of the guilds infirmary.

"Oh by the way Y/N! He's been talking in his sleep.. He must dream about you a lot because he kind of shouts your name in his sleep"

This made your heart pound.  Could it be that he.. no. No he couldn't possibly like you.  Why would he, Gray Fullbuster,  like a shy girl like you? Hmph.  You thanked Mira again and proceeded to the infirmary...

He was asleep, as expected, and shirtless. Your stomach churns as his powerful muscles rippled with each inhale and exhale.  His FairyTail tattoo rising and falling as a low grumble emanated from his throat whilst he snored. 

You took a seat next to his bed. He was the only patient in the infirmary. You do what you always do when  you visit Gray.. stare at him. His arms, his legs and his oh so beautiful face. Is dark eyes were still swollen and his eyebrows were creased in the centre.  His soft pink lips were slightly parted and small clouds of cold air rose with each exhale.  You slowly got to your feet and stepped closer to the sleeping ice mage. Bending over him you closed your eyes and leant in for a kiss. What are you doing?  Trying to kiss a man while he sleeps?  Is this how low you have sunk?  You are pathetic. You stop  just above his perfect mouth and feel his cold breath on your lips.  You stay like this for a while until you can't take it any longer.  You close he space between your mouths and kiss him passionately.  He tastes incredible.  Suddenly you realise what you're doing and reluctantly pull away. When you look back at him, his eyes are wide open with shock and his fingers are pressed against his lips.  He is blushing, so are you. You mutter something between a good bye and an apology and quickly flee from the room. Heart pounding.  You run from the guild hall and all the way down the street.  When you reach the apartment the tears start and your heart shatters. You idiot! He thinks you're a pervert who gets off on kissing sleeping men! You go to your room and cry yourself to sleep. .

AUTHORS NOTE : I don't think I explained what happened to Gray very well. .. Gray was on the way home from a mission and he got attacked by a group of men who were jealous of his amazing ice maker magic.  He was then sent to the infirmary and Wendy was called to help heal him. Wendy didn't get there for two days and when she did she was exhausted and couldn't perform magic that well.
