I caught George and Nick in the school halls, "Hey! You know where Clay's been?"

"Hm?" George turned to me, "Oh, I haven't seen him."

"Yeah...we haven't seen him in like a week." Nick sighed.

"Oh..."I frowned. "Thanks anyways," I walked away to where I could exit the school since school was already over.

Where is that motherfucker? I haven't seen him since the day I pulled that stupid prank on him.

As I walked out of the school, opening the door, it started raining, "God damnit." I stood there for a moment.  I took out my phone to call Clay. I really didn't want to do this. I don't know why but it was so embarrassing to call him, it's like I'm admitting to wanting to talk to him...gross. I hesitantly clicked on his name. He gave me his number while we were planning out that journalism project. As much as I didn't want his filthy existence on my phone, I didn't have a choice.

I put my phone to my ear. "Pick up, pick up, pick up," I tapped my fingers on my phone in impatience.

"Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice m-"

I felt like slamming my phone down on the ground, "What the fuck could he be doing?!"

I glanced back at the pouring rain. "Fuck," I noticed how the rain was pouring down even heavier. "I should've just ran earlier." I sighed before running through the rain.

Another week went by, he hasn't showed up. I haven't seen him once.

I walked home from school again. You know, Clay started to give me rides home. I mean sure, we did get pulled over a couple times, but it was fun. I kinda miss seeing him being his weird self. Why do I miss him?

I smiled to myself thinking of those times.

Why am I so fucking pathetic? Why does it feel like it's been a whole ass year since I've seen him?

I looked down on the wet sidewalk that was the product of raining earlier this morning, seeing litter scattered over the streets. God, I love this place. I spotted a 7/11 cup on the ground. I should probably see if he's there. He's probably not, but it doesn't hurt to try. He used to hang around there so much.

It took only a couple minutes to walk there. The weather was starting to warm up so the walk was more bearable.

I walked up to the lot of the 7/11, I looked to the side of the building in the hopes of seeing him. I casually looked around the building, but found nothing. I didn't see him.

Sighing, I walked my way back home in disappointment. Who am I kidding, what was I expecting anyways.

As I walked home on the sidewalk I heard this familiar laugh. Great, I'm hearing things now. What is going on with me? But my desperation couldn't take it, I looked to see who the laugh was coming from.
