karl x fem!reader - grilled cheese

   y/n pov:

   i open my eyes as the light through my window beams into my room. i look around, slightly dazed from my sleep. my cat, at the end of my bed, snoring peacefully. i lean over and grab my phone to see anything i may have missed.

im scrolling through twitter as i see a bright blue menu tweeted by mr. beast. apparently he opened a chain of restaurants with his friends! i quickly check the locations and see there's one nearby, but that doesn't surprise me much since i live in north carolina.

i get up and remember i have to run a few errands today. perfect! i can just go by mr. beast's place for a quick dinner or something. i get ready, grab my keys, and head out the door.

first, target. i gotta buy something for my friend's birthday next week, and i really don't wanna mess up like last year. that was... interesting. i check out and swiftly head to the next place.

next, i head to a thrift store. i've been looking for this one piece for an event soon, but i cannot find a cheap alternative. i look around and have no luck. i head to a couple other places, but still none. i just really don't wanna spend $150 on a skirt, y'know?

later, i head to the local coffee place. i sometimes come here to do work, or sometimes just to relax. i walk in, taking in the sweet smell of freshly baked goods in the window. i see a guy glance over at me, but i think nothing of it. i walk up to the counter, and begin to order.

the worker walks over and says their usual phrase they have to say. "hi! can i get a (f/d) please?" i smile despite my mask, forgetting we have to wear them nowadays. "of course! can i get a name for that?" they respond, grabbing a sharpie. "(y/n)!" i respond. as i pull out my card, someone behind me stops me.

"i'll get that!" he says, quickly inserting his card before i can even react. i look up at him, tilting my head in confusion.

he takes out his card and puts his wallet away, then turns to me.

"i'm sorry! hi, i'm karl, your name is very pretty, just like your face-" he proceeds to slap his hand over his mouth, realizing what he's saying. i laugh, making his less tense and relax a bit.

"thanks! hi, i'm (y/n)." i give a little wave as the barista brings out my order. i quickly grab it and turn to karl.

"see you around?" he asks, putting his hands in his pockets and shuffling a bit. i smile as i start to turn. "of course! see you around, coffee boy." i turn and leave, as i hear quick "yes!" come from karl. i smile and head to my car, continuing on with my errands.

karl pov:

i smile as i order mine and jimmy's drinks, quickly paying and finding a seat. he walks out of the bathroom, confused to why i'm so giddy.

"did ya see your celebrity crush or something?" jimmy asks, sitting down and taking his drink.

"no, well, not exactly." i respond. jimmy raised an eyebrow, taking a sip of his drink. i quickly explain the situation, tell him about her and what happened.

he smiles, setting down his cup. "looks like karl's got a cruuuusshhhhh" he makes a sound like when you got called to the principal's office for school. i slap his arm, then take a drink. "all jokes aside," he continues. "i'm sure you will see her again. she probably lives here, based on the fact that she even knows this place." i sigh, knowing he's right. "i just hope it's soon, y'know?" jimmy nods and takes another drink.

we finish up and head to start preparing at the drive through, ready for the rush that will come through tonight.
