9th December 2014
I stood at the back of the cemetery as everyone crowded the casket of Jax Teller. Not a single person had a dry eye including Happy and I could see how hard he was fighting to internalise his grief, even from here. Thankfully, everyone had left me alone this week. This whole year had been exhausting with bodies being dropped on the daily and I had to deal with the aftermath. Tara, Gemma, Juice, Bobby, Wayne and Jax - all gone, not to mention Opie, Clay, V-Lin, Filthy Phil, Kozik, Piney, Miles, Dawn, Otto, Jury. So many friends and family dead since I moved to California.
"Was this really necessary?" I asked Jax.
"You of all people knew it was my time." He said as he looked guiltily at Juice who stood on the others side of me.
"I know that, I just mean the drama of it all." I said. "I know you feel guilty, just talk to him."
I left the two spirits alone and walked over to the funeral that was just wrapping up. I stuck to the back near the Mayans who had ridden up for the funeral. Angel tucked me under his arm and leant on me since he was a giant. It had been months since I last made the trip down to Santo Padre and I wished it was under better circumstances that I saw my friend.
"Can I follow you guys back?" I asked quietly as the procession to throw dirt began.
"Want me to drive you?" He asked as he looked at the bags under my eyes. "Riz has the van so he can take my bike back."
"Nah, I have a full car already." I said pointing over to the two spirits arguing that he couldn't see.
"A'ight." Angel nodded and looked wistfully around the cemetery probably remembering his mother's funeral.
I walked over to my dad who was about to ride out with the rest of SAMCRO. I cuddled into his side knowing he needed the comfort right now. His monstrous arms wrapped around me and I felt tears dropping on me.
"It's what he wanted Dad, he's glad it's over." I said and I felt him nod on top of my head. "Go, your brothers need you. I'm going back with Angel for a while, I need some space from here."
He nodded understanding how much this has affected me, in a much different way to him.
"Stay safe Sunshine." He said before kissing my head and walking to his bike.
I felt a tug on my braids and smiled as I turned to my Uncle before I frowned at the bandage that was still wrapped around his forearm. Stupid men and their guns.
"You leaving us kid?" Hap asked after watching mine and dads interaction.
"Would you miss me if I did?" I smirked. "Only for a little while. I can't leave you lot alone, someone's gotta clean up your messes."
I turned as I saw Jax and Juice get into a fight in the corner of my eye. It wasn't very useful to anyone since they couldn't feel pain and passed through everything around them. I focused on the men and pushed some energy into them, giving them some physicality and laughed as Juice tackled Jax. They crashed into a headstone and it smashed apart.
"What the fuck was that?" Happy asked at the sudden sound and spun to see the mess.
"Juice and Jax squaring it out." I laughed. "Just added a bit of corporeal form. Let me try something I've been working on with Angel."
I put my hands on his temple and felt for his aura. It was different to feeling a spirit because instead of it being connected to me, I had to reach out and have a physical connection to the person. Once I felt his aura I could share a small part of mine, all of my senses including the all special 6th. He gripped my arm tightly as he saw Juice and Jax grappling each other but back to doing no damage. He fell to his knees and I had to drop too or I'd lose the connection. We just knelt in the emptying cemetery for a few minutes, silently. I felt Happy gain his composure and he pulled my hands away from him.
