"ZUFALLIGER TAG"

(RANDOM DAY)

——

Sooyoung woke up early, ready to make herself some breakfast and get ready for work, when she noticed Sungjae snoring like a tank on her sofa.

"Jeez... I forgot this idiot stayed over," she mumbled, ignoring him.

She started cooking scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes. Normally, she only drank coffee in the morning, but her body was still recovering from a fever, so she needed something more substantial. And she figured Sungjae might want to eat too.

The smell of freshly cooked pancakes stirred Sungjae awake. He sat up and glanced at her across the counter, eyes still half-lidded.

"You know... seeing you cook breakfast makes me imagine what our life would be like if we got married," Sungjae blurted, catching Sooyoung off guard. She froze for a split second before hiding her reaction behind a glare.

"Then it won't last long—because I'll file for divorce the second that happens," she retorted, earning a laugh from him.

"Oh, come on, Buttercup. It was just imagination. You're still so harsh," he said. "But if it actually happened, I'm not signing the divorce papers."

"How on earth can you imagine us married? We're not even dating!" Sooyoung accidentally blurted, which immediately made Sungjae pause.

Wait... what? he thought, his mind racing. What does she mean by that?

Before he could ask, the door opened, revealing a tired-looking Lisa, followed by Mark and Jackson.

"Yo! Good morning! Hmmm... is that bacon I smell?!" Jackson exclaimed, tossing his jacket onto the couch as he headed to the kitchen counter.

"Woooh! The sick girl is cooking breakfast. Nice. What were you doing, Sungjae? Aren't you supposed to be taking care of her?" Jackson teased, grabbing a piece of bacon Sooyoung handed him.

"She woke up way earlier than I did," Sungjae replied. "And besides, if I tried cooking, you wouldn't even touch it."

Mark and Lisa slumped onto the couch, exhausted.

"Gosh, I'm so tired. Just got off practice, and it's getting intense with my debut date coming up. I was really worried about you yesterday, Sooyoung. I couldn't even get off practice," Lisa complained.

"It's fine. Yook and his family were here to keep me company," Sooyoung reassured her, setting the table. Sungjae helped too, which always left their friends confused about why they weren't dating yet.

"Jeez, seeing you two makes me imagine what it'd be like if you got married," Mark commented, shocking both Sooyoung and Sungjae.

"I couldn't agree more. Why won't you just date each other? You've got the vibe, and you're the only singles left in the group," Jackson added, making things even more awkward.

Lisa didn't want to join in the teasing but silently nodded in agreement.

"Why do all of you imagine us married? We're not even dating!" Sooyoung shot back, leaving Sungjae even more confused.
