"Today the graduation main jutsu is Clone Jutsu." Iruka-sensei said smiling as Megumi looked at naruto worried.
"Naruto-san, don't worry. You'll do fine. Just relax yourself and don't stress." Megumi assure him. Naruto broke out of his negativity trance, a small smile curled on his lips at her words.
"Megumi Senju."
The pearlette stood up as she walked downstairs when suddenly she heard a familiar voice breaking through the silence.
"Megumi-chan good luck dattebayo!"
She looked and saw naruto waving, giving her a thumbs up. Megumi blushed at his charming smile, filling her with sheer determination and confidence.
"Alright Megumi you only need 3 clones to pass." Iruka sensei smiled as she nods.
She closed her eyes before doing the handsigns.'Well done Megumi. You passed, congratulations dear."
She opened her eyes and saw three of her clones looking at her sadily. "Iruka-sensei, is Naruto-san going to pass?" She asks, making his smile drop.
"Megumi, my child, I know you really care for him and it's a good thing to care for your friends. But, there are times where you need to learn to be alone all by yourself. You can't just always be with naruto all time. You need to be a little bit selfish and just walk forward without looking back--"
"But without him, I feel like I failed instead of pass. I can't feel any sort of happiness or satisfaction at all." Megumi spoke gently making Iruka silent. She just bowed to him, taking one headband before walking away.
She went outside and saw many children with their parents celebrating. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she saw her best friend sitting on swing disheartened. He didn't pass.
"There you see him? It's that boy. I heard he is the only one who failed."
"Huh, well serves him right. Imagine what would of happen if he became a ninja.I mean he is the one who-"
"Shush we are not allowed to talk about it."
Megumi frowns at their words, glaring at them with glistening eyes. "Excuse me, I really respect my elders but please try restraining yourself from speaking so ill about him. You're talking as if he is a monster or a criminal? What has he ever done to you anyway? What if it was your child in his place? He is just a kid, you have no right to speak such bad things about Naruto."
All the people looked at the girl shocked who just glared at two women heatedly making them bow their head in shame.
"If you can't speak good about anyone then rather not speak bad at all. This village is everyone's home, my great grand-father and uncle build it like that so everyone should feel safe and belonged here not like some criminal or a beast."Megumi frown, gaining everyone's attention as they all avert their gaze, her words forcing them to re-think about their past actions and behavior with the blonde Uzumaki making them fill with shame and guilt.
"Congratulations Megumi, And thanks for defending me there. I wonder if there's anyone who would do same in your place now." Naruto smiled sadily. Tears cascades her eyes one after another before hugging him close.
"I'm so sorry Naruto-san, I really hoped for you to pass. I even tried to talk with Iruka-sensei but--" Megumi sobs, buring herself in crook of his neck as he sighs shakily, trying his best to hold back his tears.
He gently rubs her back, her sobs slowing reducing to hiccups as she slowly pulled away. "Hey, it's totally fine. You don't need to worry, Megumi-chan. I did vowed to become the Hokage after all. No matter how long it takes or how difficult it gets, I'll never back down from these little problems. Believe it, I promise you'll always have me with you."
