My phone's ringtone startled me awake. It continues ringing until I snatch it from the top of the drawer. I read the name displayed on the screen and fight the urge to throw my phone across the room.

Babe is calling....

Stop calling me, I can't deal with you right now. Please, stop.

I sigh then I press the decline button and check the time on my phone. It's already half-past 10 am.

Shit, I'm late for work. What a great way to start the day. Fucking brilliant.

I get up and take a quick shower before getting dressed for work. Running against the clock is not an ideal way to start the day. I grab a cereal bar and brew myself a cup of black of coffee before getting out the door. I get inside my car and turn on the engine. My eyes drift to the passenger seat and I see a few things that she owns. Everything reminds me of her, her scarf draped on the passenger seat, her heels on the floor, and her makeup kit in the glove compartment. I need to give those back sometime.

I pull out of the paking lot of my apartment and drive to the office. On the way, I drink my coffee and quickly eat the cereal bar while driving to work. A few minutes later, I arrive at the office. I work at a world-renowned company as a supervisor, I mostly supervise those in charge of the stocks.

I grab my things and bring hers along as well, I'll bring them back to her today. I get off and walk inside. Inside, I was greeted by the employees and by those in maintenance and security. I guess you could say I'm well-known by everyone in the office. Long story.

So, you see... I dated the daughter of the owner of this company. And I just broke up with her a week ago.

Suprisingly, news has not yet spread and I haven't heard anyone gossiping about it. I hold on tighter to her belongings, wishing I didn't need to do this. I plan on bringing her things back to her today, well the things I have in my car. I'll bring her other things over some other time.

I haven't seen her all week. I'm bound to see her here today, considering that she is the vice-chairman.

I take the elevator to the 2nd floor, where my my office is and walk to inside the common room. Everyone inside stands up as soon as I enter and I greet the employees I supervise.

"Good morning Sir William." They greeted in unison.

"Good morning everyone." I flash them a bright smile. "I'm sorry I'm late, I stayed up too long. You can all sit down now, there's no need to stand just to greet me." They all take a seat and go back to what they were doing.

Ms. Hera, my secretary, approaches me and walks alongside me to my office. We reach the office and I take a seat on my chair. I eye the paperwork on my desk and make a mental note to finish them later. I stand up and walk to the file cabinet nearby my desk.

"Sorry I'm late, I hope I haven't missed anything important. What's on today's  agenda?" I ask her.

"Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. There's an annual meeting later after lunch, it starts at 1:00 pm sharp. You have a weekly stocks report, a weekly employees performance report and a monthly stocks report due later this afternoon."

"Ahh, I see. Is that all?"

"Yes. Is there anything you need or need help with?"
