"Hi I'm l/n f/n pleased to meet you all" You said in front of all the girls on the volleyball team as the coaches had you introduce yourself.

"Alright today is technically y/n's tryout so we'll see how she does." Coach Suzuki said "Alright let's start with basic hitting drills. y/n, you said you play libero so go ahead and dig the balls that they hit."

With that you quickly ran to the other side of the net and got in a ready position.

"Ayaka, since you're the other libero help her out and we'll see how it goes." Suzuki said as a short brown haired girl with green eyes ran in a spot next to you.

You smiled at her while she just scoffed, then you remembered she's the girl in your class who rolled her eyes at you. You continued to get in the ready position to wait for the ball.

The girl hitting slammed the ball down on the court and it landed a couple inches in front of you. You knew you wouldn't able able to reach it on your feet alone so you dived forward picking up the ball before it hit the ground making the perfect pass to the setter pass.

Everyone stared at you in awe as you go back up on your feet and got back into the ready position.

Practice went on and it seemed like everyone was impressed with how skilled you were. It was only natural as you played volleyball almost your whole life.

Practice finally ended and Suzuki came up to you while you were getting your things.

"Good job y/n." Suzuki said. You just smiled at her

"Welcome to the team." Reiko said handing you a white jersey with the number 5 on it. You happily accepted the jersey as they started discussing practice times with you.

Once you were done talking to the coaches you grabbed your things and walked out the gym.

Bokuto was surprisingly waiting outside of the girls gym. He seemed to be talking to some of the girl on the team. You didn't mind it as you walked right past the group of talking people.

"Oh- sorry gotta go." You heard bokuto say as you heard him start running in your direction.

"y/n!" You heard him call out. You stopped and turned to face him.

"Bokuto." You said blankly.

"How'd it go? Are you on the team?" He asked while you looked up at him.

"Does this explain it?" You said with a smile showing him the jersey.

"You're a libero?" He asked questioning while holding your jersey.

"Yes, is that bad?" You said snatching back your jersey.

"No you just gave me setter vibes." He said while walking. You caught up to him laughing.

"What direction are you going in?" He said while you got to a split road. You pointed to the right side while he pointed to the left.

"Well see ya." You said walking off

"I'll walk you home." He said following after you.

"Why? You're in the other direction." You said stopping so then he wouldn't follow you.

"I don't know just wanna make sure you get home alright." He said with his hands in his jacket pockets.

"I'm not some little girl who needs to be protected." You said rolling your eyes.

"That's not what I saw earlier." He said

"Why do you feel the need to protect me? Don't you have a girlfriend to protect instead?" You asked wanting to know if he was single or not.
