BBC News: Update: Five of the Brookston school shooting victims have recovered enough to be questioned as eyewitnesses. Student Aaron Miles began firing in his classroom, killing first the teacher before firing on students.
Ruth Johansen, a teacher in the room adjacent, heard the shots and called the police while struggling to unlock the door. Survivors say Miles stood next to the door, firing openly at the students. In our interview, Johansen said she heard one more shot and then the gun went silent. She managed to unlock the door and found Miles dead, presumably by suicide, along with the teacher and several students.
