First period, I'm so tired because no matter how much I slept last night, my crying made me exhausted.

Katie walks in the door. She's late, and she hands me her pass.

"I was expecting a substitute." She says.

"Why?" Her boyfriend, Marcus asks.

I'm opening my mouth to tell her not to tell anyone when she says, "I saw her crying at Starbucks because she and Mr. Scone got in a really bad fight after school and now they're getting divorced."

I shut my eyes briefly, pissed off. My index finger and thumb are punching the bridge of my nose.

Bradley doesn't teach Geometry anymore. He teaches the history classes. Most of my students have him as a teacher, which means world will travel fast.

So by the end of the day, everyone is going to know.

Fucking great.

"Go sit down Katie." I say, releasing my nose and opening my eyes.

I can tell she knows I didn't want her to say anything, and she looks incredibly sorry. I didn't tell her not to say anything, so I can't really be mad at her.

Everyone is whispering now.

I grab the stack of tests. "No talking. If I catch you cheating I'm giving referrals. Talking during the test will result in a detention."

Everyone looks shocked. I normally pass out the tests and tell them good luck.

"Can we use our phones after the-" Bryan starts.

"No."

After I pass them out, I go and plop down into my chair. I pick up my phone to warn Bradley when the door opens and Bradley sticks his head in. Frantically, he waves for me to come forward. Everyone is watching us now.

Sighing, I walk over to him.

Everyone is listening to.

"I'm leaving." He whispers. I frown.

"Why? Are you okay?"

"I don't feel good." He whispers.

Worried, I press my hand to his forehead.

"You have a fever."

"I figured." He whispers. "I'll be back to pick you up."

I'm worried now, but I nod anyways.

****

By forth period, the rumors are horrid and apparently Bradley said I love you after I walked away this morning. I didn't hear him so I didn't say him back.

Now I'm the bitch that broke up with her husband.

I'm the bitch that started the fight.

Oh, and I'm the whore that didn't say I love you back.

They're all technically true.

I'm in the worst mood.

My phone vibrates on my desk.

Hubby: I feel better after my nap.

Me: that's great baby! No more fever?

Hubby: no more fever :)

Me: wonderful! I miss you :*

Hubby: I miss you too. I'm going to get the girls.

Me: okay :)

I couldn't be happier to leave. I let my class go five minutes early so I can get out of here. I rush out front and Bradley isn't here yet.
