Chapter 2
(3rd POV)
"Hey idiot, watch where you're going!" The blonde guy barked, his scowl deepening.
His tall, muscular frame loomed over Lily, his handsome face twisted in anger.
"Hey foolish girl, I'm talking to you. Are you fucking ignoring me, bitch?" he yelled, his voice echoing off the buildings.
Lily gulped, too scared to speak, and reflexively looked down at the ground. Her heart raced as she felt a tear roll down her cheek.
Just as the guy's rant continued, one of his lackeys spoke up, a creepy smile spreading across his face.
"Hey Marcus, let it go. The poor girl looks ready to burst into tears. Pfft, hahah."
The other lackey joined in, their mocking laughter sending chills down Lily's spine.
Marcus's gaze lingered on Lily, his eyes narrowing.
"Hmm, you're right, Delen. She's small but kind of cute. Hey girl, how about you pay me up and I'll let you go nicely?" He licked his lips, taking a step closer to Lily.
Lily flinched, her heart racing.
"I-I'm sorry, but I'm not going anywhere with you. I um, I'm not going to pay you anything either. You just fell down, but didn't break anything," she stammered, her voice barely audible.
Marcus's face turned red, then purple, and finally blue with anger.
"Tut-tut, what are three guys doing? Ganging up on a little girl? How pathetic can you be?" A new voice cut through the tension, calm and collected.
Lily slowly opened her eyes to see a tall, blackish-brown-haired guy with piercing red eyes standing with an air of elegance.
He was leaner than Marcus, with a blank expression that sent shivers down her spine.
The guy calmly walked around the goons and stood between Lily and Marcus, roughly pushing Marcus away with a firm hand.
The lackeys trembled, and even Marcus seemed to weaken. The new guy towered over Marcus, his red eyes warning him silently.
"Fine, I'll let you off today, but next time, you won't be so lucky," Marcus spat, his words laced with venom.
The goons fled, leaving Lily alone with her rescuer. She sighs in relief and turned towards her savior to thank him.
But the boy was already gone, vanished into the crowd without a trace.
Lily sighed, feeling both grateful and uneasy. She checked her phone and gasped at the time - 7:30 pm. "Oh God, I'm going to be late!"
With a newfound sense of urgency, she rushed towards the bus stop, her mind preoccupied with the enigmatic stranger.
