Chapter 8: An Ordinary Day with Devil
(Lily's POV)

Lily let out a sigh and gazed out the window, bored out of her mind. This last class of the day was a drag, but she had to attend to keep her perfect attendance record.

She glanced behind her, seeing Dominic resting his head on his arms, looking completely unbothered.

Mr. Andrew's monotonous voice was enough to put anyone to sleep. Lily face-palmed, seeing Beth snoozing beside her, snoring softly.

Some students looked like they were about to fall out of their chairs. Mr. Andrew might be friendly, but his voice was torture.

On the other hand, Mr. Nichols was energetic and funny, making his class enjoyable.

He would walked around the classroom, his sea-green eyes watching them closely, making sure they understood the topic before moving on.

He was popular among the girls for his good looks and charm. Beth was right; he made boring topics interesting.

As soon as the bell rang, the classroom emptied quickly. Beth woke up, yawning, and Lily teased, "Do you have a good sleep, Beth?"

Beth rubbed her eyes.

"Can't help it, Lil. His voice sounds like a lullaby. I hope Mr. Nichols teaches us. I don't want to fail my history exam," she said, her voice laced with concern.

Lily agreed with her, worried about her own grades. She turned to wake Dominic, who looked like an angel sleeping.

She looked at Dominic, his bangs falling across his forehead, and his thin eyelashes making his face look kinda delicate.

But she knew his red eyes could be really intimidating when opened. And then, he opened them causing Lily's heart to skip a beat.

"DOMINIC...class is over now. I was just going to wake you up, you-u seeee," Lily stuttered, her voice barely audible.

Dominic grunted in response, packing up his things without a word.

"Hey Dominic, will you like to join our drama club?" Beth asked, "I'm the president of the club, and we need recruits for our next play."

"I'm sure we can use a handsome guy like you! No offense! What do you say, huh?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

Dominic looked down at her, his gaze piercing, and replied, "No," his voice firm but gentle.

Beth bit down her lower lip but pulled up a smile again.

"So where are you heading off to? I'm going to the Drama club room. Lil has her arts class," she asked him curiously, her eyes darting between Dominic and Lily.

Dominic looked down at them, his eyes narrowing slightly, before responding, "Music class," his voice dry and low.

Lily rolled her eyes good-naturedly as Beth squealed in delight, "Wow, Domi, you're so cool!"

Beth's enthusiasm was infectious, but she was used to her friend's dramatics. "I didn't expect you to be in music class!" Beth exclaimed with wide eyes.

Dominic raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable, and Lily wondered what he was thinking.

"You should go with Lil. Music room is just down the hall from her art class," Beth suggested, still bubbling with excitement.

Lily felt a flutter in her chest at the prospect of walking with Dominic, but he didn't seem to react. She tried to brush off the feeling, telling herself she was just being silly.

As Beth exclaimed, "Oh look at the time! I'm running late for the club," and rushed out of the classroom, Lily watched her go with a mix of relief and annoyance.

Nice, very nice, her best friend just left her alone with Mr. Devil.

She was left standing alone with Dominic, an awkward silence settling between them. Lily fidgeted, unsure of what to say, and wondered if Dominic was feeling just as uncomfortable.

This guy was not helping her much, standing silently as a statue. He must be boiling with anger at Beth's babbling and the new nickname she gave him.

Lily was afraid she would now have to face his wrath because of her friend's doing. She swore she'd kill Beth if anything happened to her!
