The next few days till the weekend went by smoothly and differently. They were not the regular days but days filled with more interaction and conversations between Mahi and Dev. Now they were not trying to avoid each other while they had breakfast or dinner. They had them together while talking to each other. They talked about almost everything, from their childhood days to their respective college days. While talking to Dev, Mahi got to know more about his friendship with Ekta and Rohit. This made her more relaxed to attend the upcoming get-together. On the other hand, Dev noticed that Mahi was well guarded when discussing school days. Relatively, she had more to talk about her college years.
Although it was something new what both were experiencing, yet it was refreshing.
It is the weekend. Dev was already home as it was Saturday but, Mahi wasn't. It is already 10 minutes past 8, and Mahi isn't home. Dev got ready before time as he sat down in the living room waiting for Mahi. He was hoping that she didn't forget about today.
'I didn't forget about today. Trust me,' said Mahi as she entered the living room in a rush. She continues,' I am so sorry. I know I am late. Something urgent came up that I couldn't leave,' while panting.
'It's alright! Breathe!' replies Dev, getting up with a chuckle. Mahi does what he instructs her like an obedient kid.
Seeing Mahi back with relaxed breathing, Dev calmly says,' Now! If you want to change, get going because I am sure you don't want to be late than this.' He continues,' If you want, we can leave like this as well.' Dev said this as he didn't want to sound offensive regarding what she was already wearing.
'No!' said Mahi a little louder in an almost panicked voice. She says,' 20 minutes. Give me 20 minutes. I'll be down in 20,' as she almost runs up to her room.
Dev simply chuckles widely, seeing Mahi care for what she should wear like any other woman. He was glad somewhere that she did not forget about today.
After exactly 20 mins, Mahi comes down, calling out Salma. As she steps down through stairs, Dev couldn't help but get awestruck by her. She was wearing a navy blue saree with soft silver shimmered cut sleeves blouse. She matched it with simple long solitaire earrings that complemented her big beautiful eyes with a soft smoky look. She paired it up with a simple wristwatch in one hand and silver bangles in the other. Dev couldn't move his eyes as she came down while she kept moving around looking for Salma.
Dev pulls himself out of the daze of staring at her and says,' They are not here. Since we'd be having dinner out so, I got them some movie tickets to chill.'
'Oh! Okay!' says Mahi slowly and thinking something up but, she couldn't come up with anything.
Seeing Mahi in some kind of dilemma, Dev asks,' What do you need? Tell me.'
'I need Salma, actually,' replies Mahi, making a little awkward face.
'What is it that only Salma can do? Don't underestimate me,' says Dev teasingly.
'Technically, you could do it too. But, I think Salma would be more appropriate to do it,' says Mahi, tightening her lips in confusion.
'Well, it will take a few hours for Salma to get back. What do you wanna do?' Dev simply asks.
'Ahhh! What the hell!!' exclaims Mahi, finally giving up as she can't afford to be late. She turns around, sliding her hair on one side, giving way for her almost bareback with a couple of laces hanging untied.
