A Christmas Prince

viii. productive day

Arya flushed and quickly shut the door behind her. Her heart going a hundred miles per hour, as she tried to relax.

"Okay, deep breaths, deep breaths," she said to herself, "dammit Arya, you can't do this! Fall for the prince?" She scorned herself.

As Virgo, let's just say she was too hard on herself.

She was developing feelings, no she had feelings already for the prince.

Immediately, she took off her coat and hanged it up. Taking the folder that she took from the cabin, she sat on the bed, and examined it's content.

At first, she was confused with all of the paperwork. There were handwritten letters of King Richard himself, which she put to the side, seeing there were two birth certificates underneath.

Arya examined both carefully and came to realize that Richard and a so called, 'Stephen Ward' we're both born on the same dates in the Kingdom of Aldovia.

Confused, she examined the document underneath it, and the biggest shock of her life hit her harder than anything before.

"Holy shit!"

Arya examined the document, again and again, unable to believe what she was reading.

"He's adopted? Richard is adopted!"

She knew she couldn't contain this, she had to call her friends. She fumbled getting her Mac and logging in to FaceTime Andy and Melissa.

She heard the first three rings, and then her friends appeared on the screen.

"HEY!!"

"Hey guys, okay, I'm diving right into this, I need you both to get headphones on, right now!!"

Andy and Melissa looked at each other briefly, before Andy got a pair and inserted it into his Mac, giving one end to Melissa.

"Okay, what's up?" Andy asked.

"You looked like you've seen a ghost girl! Are you okay?" Melissa's concern was not lost on Arya.

"I just discovered something huge and you know I trust you guys, even with my life, hell!" Arya took a deep breath. "Okay, you guys are not going to believe this, but the prince is adopted!" She added in a hushed tone.

Andy and Melissa's jaws dropped. They once again looked at each other and then back at Arya confused.

"What!" Andy exclaimed.

"No way! How did you..."

"I found the adoption papers at this cabin owned by the royal family." Arya displayed the documents so her friends could see.

"Holy shit!" Andy exclaimed, "this is huge!"

"Does the prince know?"

"No,  being adopted would mean he would have to forfeit the crown, and he just took on the responsibility."

"What were you doing at this cabin? I thought you were staying in the palace?" Andy asked.

"Long story short, I kinda lost my way in the Aldovian Forrest and the prince saved me from some wolf and took me to the cabin and there we almost kissed, and he showed me some poem and when I copied it, I discovered this button and a drawer came out and I took the folder and inside were the papers and—"

"Arya breathe!" Andy interrupted her.

"You almost kissed the prince!" Melissa exclaimed. Next to her Andy shushed her, "right sorry, Arya you almost kissed the prince!"
