Culturally, Latinos celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December, the 25th is just a day used to relax and reheat the food from the night before. This was the first 24th Arya has ever missed with her family. To think that because of her job, she'd didn't make it home for Christmas. Instead, she had been across the pond, in a European country covering the drama of a so called 'scandalous' Prince.
A Prince.
Prince Richard of Aldovia, the heir to the Aldovian throne, now King Richard ii.
And to think... the now king had grown on her. She had classified him as the playboy the tabloids claimed he was. In reality, Arya hated to admit she slowly fell for his charms and his integrity. His ability to do good work, instead of using any opportunity for PR to fix his image. Richard could care less what the tabloids printed, he cared about his work, though he went about it the wrong way, his intentions were good.
Arya remembered how he would rather play with the children of the orphanage than appear before the press to prop up his work for the sake of a good image that would've been beneficial for him. Though wrong optics, he preferred a more organic, authentic route, and slowly Arya knew that she had Richard all wrong in her mind.
The long flight back to New York had Arya in an emotional state. It was too much time to spend scolding herself and being in her own thoughts. Thoughts that were currently not helpful.
For one, she left without saying goodbye to Emily. She regretted it. The short amount of time she spent with the Princess was enough to never forget her and their friendship. They believed and trusted each other completely. Now that she was bound for New York, currently flying over the Atlantic, how was she to reconnect with Emily? After everything, would she be allowed to speak with the Princess?
What about the palace staff? She had became friends with quite a few of them. It made her sick to think that they must think she was this greedy imposter who faked everything she must have told them about herself.
And then once again, her thoughts turned to Richard...
This cannot go on anymore, I need to get him out of my head!
Arya looked into her bag and fished her melatonin gummies. One way or another, she had to get some rest, the adrenaline of the last couple of hours needed to come to a full stop.
And so... she drifted, unbeknownst to her that her name was across every imaginable tabloid and some major news outlets across the world. Her social media following was increasing by the hour, her blog had a record number of visits, the comments were not the nicest, and her family in Queens were being asked questions.

"I know you're busy..." Princess Emily wheeled herself into her brother's temporarily office. Temporarily, because now that he was king, changes to the palace would soon begin.
