𝕽ealizing that I never took the time to reflect on the series of unsettling incidents that had unfolded over a remarkably short period of time, a wave of uncertainty washed over me, leaving me pondering what the future might hold. Seeking solace and a moment of respite, I sought refuge on a nearby log, allowing myself to sink into its weathered surface as I embarked on a contemplative journey, revisiting the events that had transpired earlier that day.

As I sat there, lost in thought, a sudden voice startled me out of my reverie. "I see you've stumbled upon our sacred garden, Its such a secret that I think I might have to kill you." the enigmatic figure proclaimed, a hint of danger and secrecy lacing his words. The ambiguity of his statement sent a shiver down my spine, and I found myself tilting my head upward, my brow furrowing in confusion.

I couldn't help but recall my mother's lighthearted observations about my wrinkled nose whenever I was perplexed. However, the current situation didn't seem to amuse Less at all, whose demeanor remained unwaveringly serious.

Feeling a wave of discomfort wash over me upon being confronted with the possibility of my demise, I couldn't help but huff dismissively at such a dire statement. It seemed unfathomable that my mere presence in this enigmatic place could warrant such a threat.

Attempting to gather my thoughts and find an explanation for my impulsive actions earlier, I stumbled over my words, struggling to articulate a rational response. How does one explain something they themselves fail to comprehend? A mix of guilt and frustration overcame me, causing me to cast my gaze downward, avoiding eye contact.

Suddenly, I sensed Val's presence drawing nearer, prompting me to lift my head with a quick motion. His hand reached out tentatively, inching closer to my face, eliciting an involuntary response from my body as tiny hairs stood on end, an instinctive reaction to the anticipation of his touch.

In the midst of this charged moment, a low, menacing growl reverberated through the surrounding woods, echoing from tree to tree, as if creating an invisible barrier around us. The sound served as a stark reminder of the perilous situation we found ourselves in.

Witnessing the sudden withdrawal of Hayden's hand, my senses heightened, and within moments, I sprang to my feet, my heart pounding forcefully against my rib cage, a palpable reminder of my vulnerable state.

From the depths of the forest emerged a pack of wolves, their silhouettes initially blending seamlessly into the twilight sky. Yet, as they drew nearer, their formidable figures became distinguishable, their thick, dark fur illuminated by the fading light. The frigid air bit at my skin, intensifying my awareness of the chilling weather that enveloped us.

These were no ordinary wolves; their size and movements betrayed an uncanny blend of animalistic grace and human-like intelligence. It was evident that they possessed a rare breed of sentience, setting them apart from their mundane counterparts.

Through barks and grunts, the wolves communicated, their coordinated actions scattering them around us, effectively sealing off any possible means of escape. Overwhelmed by fear and panic, I instinctively reached out, gripping Val's forearm tightly.

As I turned my gaze toward him, something within him shifted, and I couldn't help but notice the fierce golden glow emanating from his eyes. It was a gaze that held both strength and protectiveness, a glimpse into an enigmatic aspect of his being that had previously remained concealed. I hadn't even noticed myself unconsciously retreating from him until my back collided with a chest that felt as solid as iron.

Looking up, I found myself staring into the earnest brown eyes of Less, his reassuring gaze meeting mine. "Don't be scared," he said, his voice cutting through the tense atmosphere. However, his words failed to register fully as a sudden sound of cracking sliced through the air, intensifying the air of foreboding that hung heavy around us.
