"Succulent I'm entrusting you to keep them alive." Mother demanded, shifting her gaze from the sky."Are you sure about this Diamond? If Burn finds out...." The hooded, thin Sandwing asked, trailing out the last part of his sentence. He glared down at my nearly white scales, his dark hollow eyes stared back at me as I looked up at him.
I fiddled with my talons before reaching for the tan coloured egg that was only a bit smaller than me. Mum gave me a sad, nearly empathetic look, patting my head.
"You look after them Fenec, no matter what happens."•I didn't know what was happening then or•
•how much my life was going to change•A blast of fire scorched the sky, closely followed by the cloud of silhouetted Sandwings bleeding across it. "Well that's my signal to go." Mum said, wrapping her wings around me before soaring into the night.
"Anything else you want me to do Diamond-back?" The hodded Sandwing yells out to her. Turning her head around in mid-flight she answered in a rushed tone, "Cobra, call them Cobra!."
•Before I knew it, she was gone, just a dark•
•silhouette in the sky•"Now, let's get you out of here, little missy." The strange sandwing whispered, cautiously packing Cobras egg into one of the pouches around his neck.
He glanced over to me, giving me a strange, yet friendly grin, before he picked me up and nestled me next to his chest, using one of his arms to keep me from falling. His hood flapped in my face, and I growled in irritation, grabbing the heavy dusty fabric with my teeth.
"Shush shhh... come on Fenec quiet." Worried Succulent, tugging on his hood, trying to get it out of my grasp. With a small hiss I let go eventually.
•then we left, you, me and 'Dad' ,he flew all the way for what felt like hours•
He had been flying for hours, I yawned before closing my eyes and falling asleep clutching Cobra's warm egg.
I woke up to a unfamiliar voice yelling "And you thought taking that cursed sister of ours children!?"
