JUST YOU AND ME [ON HOLD]

Chapter 3: Not yet

"Father, there's nothing really going on with the Uchihas and the village of Konoha right?" 

One day, that unexpected question was asked by the young boy. Fugaku was genuinely surprised by that question asked by his younger son. Being the cautious man he was he asked, "And why do you think so?"

Sasuke let go of the toy he was playing with, setting it aside on the table and looked up to his father.

"Because I wouldn't want to lose my family in such a pitiful way."

That vague answer touched something in the man's heart. What did Sasuke mean by that question? Why would he say that? Why would a 6 year old have to say those words?

The clouds around slowly darkened. It was raining. Lightning flashed as the water hit the earth with a harsh sound as the icy cold winds of Konoha blew right into the compound.

Fugaku gasped.

Mangekyou Sharingan glowed in the darkness of the room.

It stared at him right through his soul.

"Tou-san, are you alright?"

Black eyes darted open, heavy breathing filled the air.

"Father?"

Sweat dripped down his head as his breathing slowly levelled out. He turned to his right to see his oldest looking at him with worried eyes. 

"Itachi..."

"Were you...having a nightmare perhaps?" Itachi asked. The man shook his head. 

"Never mind. Bring Sasuke here."

"Alright tou-san."

Itachi got up and left the room. 

What was that dream? Why did it seem so real? And that Mangekyou Sharingan...It seemed so sad. Why? Just why? The door opened once more revealing the pair of brothers with Sasuke holding a toy in his hand.

'It's the same one.' Fugaku though was he eyed his youngest.

"What is it tou-san?" Sasuke asked as he sat on the floor. He held his toy "dinosaur" tightly by his chest.

"Itachi, I would like you to leave this room. Come in when I call you."

Itachi was no fool. He has been thinking about Sasuke for a while as well. He replied with a "yes father" leaving the father and son alone.

"So what did you want to talk about, tou-san?" Sasuke finally asked after a prolonged silence which seemed unnatural for them both as they would usually speak to each other without any hesitance.

"Did you attain your sharingan?"

Sasuke tensed. He let out a small sigh before replying. There was no point in lying to his father.

"Yes I have tou-san."

There was silence once more.

Then there, a deafening sound was heard. The clouds were as black as the hair on their heads, the world became smaller as it focused on the two beings in the room.

Lighting flashed.

Red eyes gleamed, glowing bright like the stars in the black sky. 

It started to rain. The wind was blowing, howling as it passed by the houses on the streets. The trees were shaking, making a rickety noise as they moved, the leaved swished in the air, adding to the music of the storm.

But everything was hazy.

He could only see those red eyes. Those red, red eyes that stared right through his soul.

A certain girl sighed, looking out through the window of her room. It was currently raining outside so no training outside with Neiji. They could've done it inside, but it just didn't have the same "feel" as to training outside. 

Academy.

They were going to start going to the Academy 2 days from now. Her cousin was a year older than her and so having started earlier than her, she had to wait. She over-heard her father's conversation with the elders a few days ago about their future. She didn't think much of it. Nothing would be left is she and Sasuke didn't hurry up.

For now, she could only wait. Patience was a virtue. And she had practiced it well.

"Would you like to warm yourself Hinata-sama?" Mizana asked breaking the silence of the unusually quiet compound of the Hyuga.

Hinata turned back and gave her a smile. "It's alright Mizana." The maid nodded and left the room. The young girl sighed once again.

"I just hope Sasuke-kun is doing alright with his clan."

It was today. The day when they were first going to go to the Academy. Everything had to stay at the right path. It wouldn't be long until Danzo takes Shisui's eyes, Shisui-san would kill himself for the sake of his brother to obtain the Mangekyou and they had to stay normal.

Under no circumstances could they let their fathers get even more suspicious.

As Sasuke walked towards the building, a bob of Amethyst purple appeared infront of him. He let a smile appear on his face as he recognized that hair from anywhere.

"Hinata."

The girl turned back. Her face brightened up at the familiar face.

"Sasuke-kun!" She had a sudden urge to hug him and she actually was about to, that is until someone stopped her. More like interrupted her.

"Hinata-sama, you will be late for class."

Both the kids turned there heads to see a taller figure standing beside them.

"N-Neiji nii-san." Hinata stuttered, slightly surprised by his sudden arrival. Now when did he get there? He slightly glared at the Uchiha which clearly meant for him to stay away from the girl. Sasuke 's lips quirked up, slightly showing his pearly white teeth.

They were even going to get married for Pete's sake.

Hinata's face fell. "Well then..." She looked to Sasuke. 

We'll meet later after class get's over.

The boy understood the words mouthed to him and he just nodded.

"Hn."

"Do you know that girl?"

Sasuke flinched at the sudden surprise and flipped his head behind to see his brother standing there. 

"O-Oh, nii-san." he mumbled. What was with the siblings today? "Well I met her in the park one day and uh, we just became friends!" Sasuke started to explain. Itachi raised an eyebrow at that statement but let it slide. 

He was still hiding a lot of things.

"Hmm? Really?" From the plain eye, you could see a young cute boy who seemed innocent of the evils of this world. But behind them, you could see well guarded eyes, attentive and ready to pounce at the enemy.

A shinobi's eyes.

Sasuke's breath hitched. "Yeah."

Itachi ruffled his hair. "Well then, get going." 

With a smile, Sasuke sets off to class.

"Yeah."
