Kidnapped

Chapter Four; A place to rest?

"You better wake up potato."

Amanda wakes up with a shudder. She was terrified out of her wits from what had happened; it seemed so. . . real. She realises she's in the open forest, possibly a clearing, and that the Sun has risen. It's early morning. She doesn't immediately see Carter nearby, and her hopes go down a little. She tries to prop herself up and surprisingly finds that she can sit up properly without pain. She brings her hand towards her left eye, hoping that she was hallucinating and what happened wasn't real. However, the left side of her forehead and her chin has been bandaged, and it pains every time she blinks her eyes.

"Oh my goodness you're alright Amanda!" A violet haired girl with an eyepatch over her left eye springs out of one of the bushes to her right.

"H-hazel? When did you-" Amanda doesn't get time to finish her sentence as Carter rushes towards her from behind a tree. "You're awake! Hazel you're a genius!" He exclaims and tries to hug Hazel, but she silently backs away. "Okay so- Hazel how the hell did you find us in this forest-?" Amanda stands up from the ground and stretches, her back sore from lying on plain ground.
"I have my ways, little girl," Hazel puts a finger to her lips.
"Anyways," Carter awkwardly starts, "I think I found somewhere we could find people that will help." He kicks a small rock that was lying near him with pride. "I climbed one of the tallest trees here, and luckily didn't fall. So I could figure out some tents to the," He points to his right. "Right of me. It's going to be late morning soon, so we better head there before any lions come to eat us up," he claps his hands together and grabs Amanda's backpack from her side. "I'll carry this for you today, Teeny Ammy. I don't wanna hear you whine ever again," he turns around and starts walking. Hazel pushes back a tuft of hair that had fallen over her eyes and tucks it back. Amanda mutters something about stuffing brocolli into an oven and follows them.

And together, they walk towards the unknown place, they might or might not get to refuge in.
