Amanda sat with her father, Noah, under the moonlight, where trees near her house cleared out in an area. She had protested on not coming, but he promised to extend her curfew for tomorrow to 10 pm if she came with him tonight. So they sat together, in awkward silence.
"So uh-" Noah began, his green hair that had started to gray glistening in the moonlight. "Amanda, do you see any stars?"Amanda looks at him, her eyebrows slightly knitted. "Hm? I don't. What happened?" She looks towards him. "Are you sure there aren't any stars in the sky?" He states again. Amanda looks around restlessly and replies, "Nope." Noah's lip tugs up at one end before answering, "If you look close enough, you'll see them twinkling. Look!" He points right above him, where a small star had started to twinkle. "So- what's the matter with it-?" Amanda asks, scratching her head as she looks up. Noah sighs and responds, "It means that, whenever you feel like no one needs you in their life, or isn't looking after you, just look a little keenly. You'll see many people looking over you, forever." He smiles at Amanda, who was sticking her tongue out at him.
Noah shakes his head with a small chuckle and exclaims, "You're hopeless Am. Go have dinner now. I'll join you soon." "Alright," Amanda replies as she jumps up quickly and walks into the house with a spring in her step, and looks back at the twinkling star, now visible better than before.
