"See you later, Miss Hower!”

“Hey, no running in the halls!” As soon as the last bell rings, the students of Greenwally Highschool start racing down the hallways, headed towards the gym or the other school building for their activities and clubs.

“Why does it seem like they always have the most energy AFTER class? I guess that’s pretty standard for an all-boys school. All right time to get back to work.”  Saying that to herself Jessica Hower walks down the halls to the staff room. Arriving at the room the vice principle calls her over right away with qn annoyed face.

“A boy from your class is in deep trouble. It’s Matthew. He snuck over next door to the Acadia Charter School! You need  to hurry and get him back over here”  Acadia Charter School is an all-girls school with high standing, which is located right next door to the all-boys school, which is filled with rich, polite young ladies, the complete opposite of Greenwally high school.

“Yes, of course! I will go now” having a bad feeling about this, Jessica rushes to the school next door.

The entrance of the school alone looks much more worth then the entire boys school, walking in to the massive and fancy school, she is amazed how a school can look like this, walking to the secretary, she explains the situation to the middle aged woman who told her to go to the principal’s office.

Taking a deep breath, she knocks at the door and opens it: “Excuse me. My name is Jessica Hower and I am a teacher from Greenwally Highschool."
Walking inside she already sees Matthew sitting there who hangs his head with shame.

“Are you his homeroom teacher?” hearing a low voice she looks at the man who was standing behind Matthew.

“Yes. I am really sorry, that my student had caused trouble…”  walking to her, he stopes in front of her “There’s no need for formalities. My name is Nathan Johnsen, head teacher here at Acadia Charter school. Your student snucked into our school and wanted to peep in the girls’ locker room. There were several others with him, but they managed to escape."
Looking at her student, who hasn’t looked up once, Jessica asks him.

“It that true, Matthew?” crossing her arms, Jessica waits for an answer until she hears his quite voice

“… I am sorry. I was with a bunch of my friends from the soccer team and…” cutting him Nathan with a strike voice which scarred Jessica a little.

“Pardon me for interrupting, but maybe incidents like this are why your students have the name of causing trouble.

“I am really sorry. I will deal with this situation immediately.”  Nathan is really strict, and Jessica feels like she is the one who got in trouble and is being lectured, thinking that the lecture is over was wrong, because he begins talking again.

“At our school, such a behavior would have hug consequence, which basically would be suspension. I really hope that they get proper punishment.” Before she can say anything, Matthew stands up and says in a loud voice: “Suspension?! But we got a soccer match coming up!” shocked by his loud argument she turns to Nathan and tries to save the situation.

“Wait a minute! I understand that you are angry, but he clearly regrets his behavior. It is also his first time causing so much trouble so a waring should be enough. I am sure that this won’t happen again.” No one said anything, they just looked at her, Mathew with hope in his eyes and Nathan with disbelieve, after some time Mathew turns to Nathan and said with a shacking voice:
“I am really sorry. What we did was really wrong, and I feel so bad about it. I promise, I will not do something like this again.” After a short pause, Nathan sighs and takes off his glasses rubbing his eyes. “Very well. But I won’t be so forgiving next time, remember that.”

“I completely understand. Thank you so much” putting his glasses back on, he interrupts her with excusing himself and leaves the room.

Thinking to herself that he is not just strict but also really cold makes him even scarier and she wonders if all teachers are like him to prevent the students to even think about doing something which could ruin the name of the school.

Walking out of the office two students in their school uniform look at her with a smile and greet her.

The way they school uniform is worn, makes them even more elegant and polite, totally different from the boys school, they wear the school uniform how they pleasure, without the tie, the shirt not inside the pants and not button up like it has to be.

“Wow, that girl with the pony tail was really cute…” hearing Mathew saying that she looks at him and sighs.

“Mathew, you got really lucky this time. Don’t make me regret everything, because Mr. Johnsen was right usually something like this would get you suspended.”

“I know and I am really sorry”

“Its unfortunate that you were the only one who had to handle that alone, but you need to say who was also involved so that they also get the waring, so don’t take this lightly it was really serious and you should be happy that you are left with a waring.”

“I know. I really feel bad about it I swear, and I won’t do it again. Thanks to you Miss Hower I am able to participate at the match this week. But also, I am sorry that you had to apologize for us and hear his lecture.”
Smiling at Jessica, she smiles back and hops that this would never happen again.

“By the way Miss Hower, you were really cool there, when you stuck up for me like that. But… if you keep being this tough all the time it would be hard for you get a date you know.”

“Mathew, you know in how much trouble you are, right?”
The smile faded off her face and she look at him seriously, which makes him taking back his words and pretended it was just a joke.

But the again it is true, Jessica was so busy with work that she would always go home instantly and the only guys in her life right now are the students from school or the teachers who are all middle-aged men.

Walking back to the school and into the staff room, Maryam Hartley walks over to her who was her close friend and also teacher in Greenwally.

“Hey Jess. I heard about what happened. I don’t envy being a homeroom teacher at all.” Laughing she looks at her close friend and says:

“Well it is tough but it is also rewarding. It is my first year being homeroom teacher and I always wanted to do that. I just have to do my best.”
The switch of being a homeroom teacher was pretty sudden but still she never regrets it.

“Oh yeah, I saw the principal walking by and he carried a lot of documents.”

“It was probably the documents for the new teacher housing, I also have to move into it soon.”  Putting her arm around Jessica’s shoulders Maryam says: “Oh man. I am so jealous. I wish I could live alone. Its really tiring to live with your parents. You can do what ever you want and just relax alone.”
Thinking about how she has to prepare a lot for her moving she could already see her weekend being stressful and not relaxing.
