School Affair

Chapter 17

Tomorrow is the last day of the study camp, the days of the teachers will get back to normal. Talking to the teachers they all notice how much worth the study camp was.

"The students really put in a lot of hard work." Crossing his arms, Luke smirks and says:

"It was actually pretty interesting, but not as much as that rumor, about that scream. Is it true that you scream because Nathan sexually harassed you?"

"No... I don't even think that he sees me as a woman to be honest." Surprised by her pouting tone of voice she forces them to forget about those rumors.

"Knock it off. If he would hear that people are saying he sexually harassed me..."

"Who sexually harassed who?" appearing behind them once again Nathan asks, and Luke starts to laugh.

"You sexually harassed Miss Hower, of course. I mean you two slept in the same room together, are you sure NOTHING happened?" everyone seems really curious about the answer to that, losing her patience she almost shouted:

"How many times do I have to tell you, nothing happened! I am getting sick of it"

"Same here. I am surprised we share the same opinion. "before they could even think about asking more, there was a knock at the door and Maximillian opens it.

"Excuse me, is Mr. Johnsen here?" Luke looks at Maximillian and says with disappoint.

"Oh man, we were just getting to the good part. Come one we can ask them another time...back to work." Noticing how he interrupted Maximilian apologizes and asks if he should comeback later but Nathan stops him.

"No, it's fine. What is it?"

"I have something to ask you" holding a graded math worksheet, he pointed at a certain task.

"It is about this problem. I am pretty sure I hade the right answer."

"What? Let me see...Yes, this my mistake. I will correct that immediately. I apologize for that. I will also change your grade in the computer." After correcting his mistake, he hands him the sheet back.

"Thank you, I will be going now." Closing the door behind him, Maximillian leaves the room.

"So even someone like you make mistakes?" when Nathan sits down on his desk, Jessica says that and sees a confused look on him, and she can't help but laugh at his sour face.

"...I suppose. Stop laughing and hurry to your next cla-"being cut of by his own sneeze, Jessica is relieved that he is showing his weakness and it makes him seem more human.

Jessica leaves the staff room, to find Maximillian walking up to her.

"I though you had gone back to the classroom."

"I went to the restroom. Want me to carry that for you?" without even waiting for an answer he takes the stack of folders from her hands and starts walking off to the classroom.

"It's all right Maximillian. I can carry them."

"You are always doing so much for us. It won't kill you to let your students help every now and then."

"I guess it fine. Thanks. Study camp is over tomorrow. How did it go for you?"

"Hmm...I think the classes were pretty rough, especially Mr. Johnsen's. but I am glad we did it. Do you remember when he refused to help me? I thought he was kind of a jerk for doing that, but I ended up solving it myself. I am surprised that he knew what I capable for more than I did, and I have started to like math more because of his classes."

"First of all, this is the last time I hear you saying jerk to a teacher... and second I think he would be really happy to hear that. He is a great teacher, isn't he?"

"...Maybe. But I think you are an amazing teacher, too. Me and the boys are glad to have you as a teacher and we were glad that you were here at the study camp. You just need more confidence."

"I am really happy to hear that. All right. Time for the class" smiling at each other they hurry inside the class.

Nathan calls the finals class to an end, the final class for the day is math and Jessica comes to help out.

"I am soooo tired!"

"We are finally free!" being so excited about ending the study camp.

"Calm down, everyone. You are still on this study camp until you get home!" felling there is something missing, she looks at Nathan who would usually lecture the students and her for being loud and chatty, but he is just cleaning up his things.

"Good work Mr. Johnsen let me help you clean up."

"...Thank you" the boys say they goodbyes and leave the room, being much more cheerful.

Arriving at the staffroom, Jessica gathers her stuff preparing to lock the staff room up, when she sees that the gym teacher, Mike Adams was still there.

"Why are you here? You didn't participate in the camp."

"I heard today was the last day, so I planed a party! So I want to invite you guys for a quick dinner at Dominic's restaurant." Luke glares at him for that.

"You planned this, but didn't participate in the camp? You must have something planned in your mind."

"What?! I-I don't, I swear! Don't say anything more Simon, I dare you!" smiling at them how the decided to go for dinner together the door suddenly opens and Taylor walks in.

"Oh, it looks like the study camp is over, hm?"

"Yeah. By the way Mr. Knight thank you very much for helping me with my lessons plans. "

"No problem, I am happy to help. Looks like you all are having fun." Running up to them Mike says with a huge smile.

"I invited them to a party at Dominic's restaurant! Do you want to come? I mean you have to!"

"Why not? I would to hear about how the camp went. You are going too right, Nathan?" as if he didn't hear the question he just looks out the window deep in thoughts.

"Hello? Nathan, are you still there?" waving his hand in front of his face, Simon brings him back to earth.

"What? Oh...the party. Yeah, I will go." Looking at him, Jessica knows it is not like him to space out like this, he even made a mistake on Maximillian's worksheets...What is up with him lately? Before she could ask him, Mike already urges all of them out the door.
