When I opened my eyes, darkness filled the air around me. There was so much darkness, I thought my eyes may have still been closed. I was afraid, who wouldn't have been? It was lurking, creepily and almost as silent as the night. I knew it was there, I could sense it. The air was cold and harsh, and it smelled as if someone had died. I wish I would've never been so curious, because now, I'm stuck inside of this dastardly place.

Just then, I woke up to the sound of a door slamming. I jumped up feeling a mix of surprise, curiosity, and a bit of concern. I was too afraid to see what it was, but I think I heard quite enough. My older brother must have snuck out of the house and have gotten caught, again! I heard a bit of mumbling, but after that, it was silent. I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't. I couldn't take my mind off of the lurking creature. I wonder what that creature was. Later, as my thoughts went into deeper context, I felt myself drifting into a restless sleep.

The next day, I woke up and felt the hot summer sun beaming through the window. The day started off chill and cereal for breakfast followed after. Later that day, I decided to ride my pale yellow bike to the beach near by. When I arrived there, I walked along the shore. As I was walking, a beach ball came out of no where and I thought it would hit me. The ball didn't hit me but I got kind of scared and I continued on with my walk.

After I arrived home, I walked into the living room where I saw my mother sitting on the couch, scrolling through her phone. She didn't look up to greet me, so I just walked away. I walked down the hallway and into the bathroom to wash my face. I turned to look into the mirror, but couldn't believe my eyes. What I saw was horrifying, because I saw nothing where my reflection was supposed to be.
