Coincidence... I think not!

Irene's P.O.V.

I feel so stupid... Wait, why do I feel stupid? We barely know each other—I don't even know his name! I walked into my apartment and found something unexpected on my table. A letter? No, not just a letter—an invitation. Apparently, I've been invited to the next award ceremony for Businessmen and Women of the Year.

Letter:

Dear Ms. Irene Rei,

You've been invited to the annual Businessman and Woman of the Year Award Ceremony. You have been personally selected to attend the ceremony by the winner of the Businessman of the Year.

V.I.P. Seat Number: 1224

Utmost Respect,

Carle Seftéring (Host of the Award Ceremony)

Irene's phone starts ringing.

IR: Hello?

N/A: Have you received the invite?

IR: I have. Why is it necessary for me to attend?

N/A: Come to HQ tomorrow. We'll talk then.

IR: We?

The call ends.

Damn him! Why couldn't he just explain over the phone? And more importantly... what's with the "we"?

Next Day

Unknown P.O.V.

As Irene rode her motorcycle to HQ, she kept wondering why they insisted she come in person. Usually, everything is handled through email or a phone call. This must be something big, especially since everyone else she talked to also received similar instructions. When she arrived, she noticed several black cars parked in front of the building.

Wait... have I seen that car before? I glance at the one in the middle. As I removed my helmet, I saw someone stepping out of that car. It's him! What's he doing here? I felt like he was about to turn his head. Don't look, Irene, don't look! Shit... we made eye contact for a few seconds, and I quickly looked away. I hurried to turn off my motorcycle and rushed inside as fast as I could without looking like I was actually running away.

Sebastian's P.O.V.

As I got out of the car, I heard the sound of a motorcycle arriving. I couldn't help but turn my head, and that's when I saw her jet-black hair. No doubt, it's her—the girl from that night. A strange sense of relief washed over me as I saw her. Her blue eyes froze me in my tracks. She hurried into the building, the same one I was heading to. I can finally sleep peacefully tonight, knowing she hasn't disappeared. As I made my way inside, I had a feeling that this was no coincidence.
