"Well, well, well... look what we have here," the man said, his voice dripping with intrigue.

Irene's P.O.V:

That husky voice sent a shiver down my spine. The moonlight cast shadows that hinted at his well-built frame. "Damn you, Clarrisa," I cursed silently. She was supposed to check the upper floors! Now, I'm stuck dealing with this mess. But... why is my heart racing? Am I... nervous?

Hell, when was the last time I felt this way?

---

Sebastian's P.O.V:

I finally managed to escape the crowded ballroom, finding solace in the quiet of the moonlit balcony, a glass of rich red wine in hand. Fifteen minutes passed in peaceful solitude before I heard rustling. And then... she appeared. Even in silhouette, she drew me in. Her hourglass figure, the way her dress clung to her curves, and that scent... What the hell is wrong with me? I've never been captivated by a woman before. I'm sure I'm not gay, but there's something about her that's pulling me in, and I haven't even seen her face yet.

Finally, I broke the silence. "Well, well, well... look what we have here." I saw her flinch slightly. She wasn't expecting anyone to be up here. What could she be up to?

---

Irene's P.O.V:

I knew I had to turn around, but my body wouldn't move. I couldn't let this ruin the mission, but my curiosity was too strong. Slowly, I turned to face him, and when I did, I was struck by those eyes. I couldn't look away. His face... it was just perfect.

---

Sebastian's P.O.V:

When she turned around, I was stunned. My world seemed to freeze. Her eyes were as deep and mesmerizing as the ocean, and the dress she wore—any man could lose himself just looking at her. When her lips began to move, I finally snapped out of it.

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice steady.

"I could ask you the same thing," I replied.

She hesitated before saying, "No one you need to know."

"Well then... why aren't you with the rest of the crowd three stories down, huh?" I asked, a smirk playing on my lips.

"I could ask you the same thing," she shot back with a smirk of her own.

"This conversation isn't going to end, is it?" I asked, half amused.

"Probably not..." she replied, her voice teasing.

---

Irene's P.O.V:

I realized I needed to leave, now. "I have to go," I said, turning to leave.

"You want to escape? I see..." His voice stopped me in my tracks. "What were you doing climbing up here through the balcony?"

---

Sebastian's P.O.V:

"I don't have to justify my actions to a stranger," she said, her tone dismissive. Then she was gone, disappearing as quickly as she'd appeared. It was probably time for me to head back, too. Damon's likely losing his mind by now.

---

Irene's P.O.V:

Oh my god, that was close, I thought as I hurried back to find Clarrisa, who was busy flirting with some boy. His voice kept echoing in my head, distracting me so much that I nearly crashed into a waiter. I couldn't wait to tell Clarrisa what had just happened. As soon as I reached her, I said, "Let's go."

But before Clarrisa could respond, the boy she was with was interrupted by another voice, telling him, "Let's go."

I recognized that voice instantly. It was him—the man from the balcony. When I turned to face him, he was already looking at me. Time seemed to slow as our eyes locked, and it felt like he was looking into my soul. Clarrisa tapped my shoulder, snapping me back to reality. We blinked, and the moment was over. We all made our way to the entrance, getting into our respective cars.

But before I left, I turned around one last time to get a good look at him.

We made eye contact for what felt like an eternity, though it was only a fraction of a second. Then, as he turned away, a woman kissed his cheek and asked...

Did you like it, my fiancé?
