"Fine! We will kill her, in no time." Carter's muffled voice sounded through the closed door, and my heart skipped a beat.
Kill her? About who is he talking about? And why is he talking about killing someone?
"You are being ridiculous right now, you just met her yesterday! What the fuck would you probably want from her?" he said, then stayed silent.
Oh my God, is he talking about me? I highly doubt he isn't, but I can't help thinking it's me. I covered my mouth so that my harsh breathing wouldn't be heard and expose me, and put my ear close to the door so I can hear more.
"In return?" he asked, then silence again.
"Fine, then where would I burry her body?" My eyes widen and I staggered backward as if someone pushed me. No, this can't be happening. I don't want to die. I have dreams to chase, goals to reach for, they are surely talking about me. And I should get away from them.
"What the fuck Scott? Give me the phone," I hear Cole say "Listen you cranky guy, if you ever want her, you should go through us first, which you never will, loser. " he said and I hear a startling bang on the door.
I quickly leaned on the wall and crouched down. I think I better reveal myself and act like I heard nothing than they find me and think it's better to do it here quickly and easily.
"What is wrong with you, Scott? So, killing an innocent person would solve this mess you got us into?" Cole shouts.
"Are you this dumb, bro? I was trying to put them on the good side!"
"By killing-"
"Can you stop saying that? Of course, I don't want her to get killed!" Carter says.
"Why the change of heart suddenly? You wouldn't have cared, right?"
"Well, coreect me if I am wrong but you are the one who likes her."
"Bro! wait.... do youactually...?" Cole asked, his voice teasing. Carter's response was a sharp slap on the skin, ouch. Poor Cole.
"Ow! What the fuck?"
"I won't ever get along with her, let alone like her. " Carter says and Cole laughed.
"Yeah, sure," Cole says and there was another slap.
I stood up from the place I crouched and barged into the room. Both Cole and Carter got startled and looked at me wide eyed.
"Kate! You came! You really have a cat's footsteps, you know when a cat walks in and you don't know, but then they did," he laughed nervously and looked at Carter, scratching the back of his head.
"Yeah, I did," I said and stepped more into the room.
The colors and the theme of the whole room are not, matched in a great way. The color of the walls are creamy, and the walls are black. The floor is wooden colored and clothes are scattered all over it.
I looked at Carter, who is unsurprisingly looking at me. He looks annoyed, of course, I came here, that's why.
"I told you to stay in the car," he said coldly.
"Well, you guys took time to come in." I retorted. He folded his arms across his chest and looked away from me, "You should listen to what I tell you to do."
"You are always bossy, aren't you?" I replied with that, sending a glare his way.
"For people like you, yes." he said.
Dang this guy and his hurtful words.
"You don't have to be this rude, dumb boy." I snapped at him.
